    Thinking to meet up in Colletesville on Friday around 11 and the ride through and explore Pisgah all afternoon. When we get bored we can head towards the boarder and camp for the night. Anyone have any ideas or objections?

    We did brown mountain beach rd to Mortimer, hiked part of thorps creek trail, went to Edgemont then took Globe rd up to fr 4071. FR was only open 3 miles or so in. Went into Blowing Rock and back home. The folks wanted to go so couldn't do anything extra. Looking forward to the trip though.

    Good enough, I'm working on the forest roads, and I have Tim's map too. Some of it may involve exploring for the sake of exploring. I don't think anything there can get too technical for the trucks to handle.

    That one might be my fault. Last time I was up on 4071 there was a good size oak laying across the road. I called the forest service and they cleaned it up. Apparently they tidied up a bit. Don't lose faith yet. It's still awful pretty up there.
