    Interesting, geuss I never realized it because I used Blue haha could try to scrape the back off slightly to maybe allow more light through ? but my guess is it won't work.

    Yeah, I've heard nightmares of guys trying to do that to the orange paint behind the 01-04 faceplate. Which is why they opt for the 4runner clear backed faceplate. I just don't see an option like that for 98-00 Tacomas.

    I agree but blue seams to be done to death so I might go green with mine so its not like every other truck out there

    Go blue bro! Who cares if everyone else has done it. There is a reason why! It looks good. I did blue, and i love it. Almost looks like the 2nd generation vw bug dash. You know, black lightlight-ish. If i had the balls, time, write-up and patience id do my stock stereo blue too.

    Just got my white leds today. Gona rip dash apart next chance i get. Gona paint centre consol black instead of the gray it is now at same time.

    ok I don't feel like reading the whole thread so can someone sum it up for me?

    I don't want to change every bulb in the dash to blue, I only want to change the color of the gauge backgrounds to blue and the a/c controls to blue but I want to leave all the other idiot/warning lights in their original colors.

    so how many of which bulbs do I need?

    I got the part where I need T10 or 194 bulbs for the dash and i think its the NEO4 for the hvac controls

    so I need four of the t10 or 194 bulbs and three of the noe4 bulbs

    i'll get them ordered right away, glad I didn't just buy one of those 10 bulb sets

    This is exactly where I found the bulbs for the ac. It's a pain because it's got to be perfect size

    ok, im now a member of the blue dash club, bulbs are ordered and my radio has the option for blue red or green lighting so everything will match.

    does anyone happen to know what that little notch is on the auto floor shifter? it almost looks like it might be a light of some sort but if it is, mine is burnt out. I cant imagine any other reason to make it have a recess like that unless it has an indicator or illumination light in it.
