    Awesome! Glad I could help.

DIY replacement hubs are definitely the easiest, cheapest & most convenient option for front wheel bearing replacement.

Hey Kev. I have a question for you. I was in a hurry to put my new hubs on before a storm and used an air impact gun to tighten the spindle nut.
Am I okay or should I go back and torque to 173 ft./lbs? dosen't it seat on the CV without a bearing preload? Thanks in advance.

    FYI

Every hub I sell is shipped for FREE & insurance for the full amount of the order is included for FREE. The insurance covers any damage incurred from the time it leaves my location until it shows up to your doorstep. This includes a damaged box that may have caused one or both hubs to be lost during shipping... this has happened before.

Typically single 4x4 hub orders do not require a signature. Two 4x4 hubs or one Prerunner hub has a "signature required" automatically added by USPS due to the insured amount. When I PM tracking info I will specify that the package must be signed for, just a heads up to the person receiving the order. If the package looks damaged or it's ripped open with packing material hanging out of it you can refuse to sign for the package & have it sent back to me for inspection. Last year I had a customer receive an empty & destroyed box that should have contained two Prerunner hubs. His wife signed for the package without knowing any better. Luckily through pictures of the damaged box & receipts of parts we were able to receive the full refund through a claim.

Me & another member are currently fighting a tough claim. We will share the details at the end of the battle, it is a unique one but we will win in the end. If it wasn't for the insurance on the package we wouldn't even have a chance.

Have an easy mind knowing that your shipping & insurance charge is covered on my end. Thanks again to everyone for making this whole operation possible & for keeping me busy

back that nut off & torque it to 173 ft/lbs. the axle nut is what keeps the proper amount of preload on the bearing.

I recently helped a member out that had broken a cv shaft in half. They thought they could remove the cv shaft to get the truck back home.. BIG MISTAKE. within a few hundred feet the hub flange walked out of the bearing, taking out the caliper/rotor & toasted the bearing. This is why the Prerunner hubs use a large nut on the backside of the bearing. The torque of the nut is what keeps proper preload on the bearing.

I wouldn't put too many miles on it in that condition, it'll wipe the bearing out fairly quick.

argh! i have looked through so many bearing threads on TW in the last couple weeks wondering how to best approach my RR growl. I finally just pulled the trigger on 2 SKF hub assemblies to get pressed in next week! now I stumble on this....Murphys law right there. Cost me $300 just for those. Sub'd for my front end at some point
