My code is near the bottom of about a 3' long receipt. Says: "Thank you for purchasing Project Cars! Your code to unlock the Modified Car Pack is below".

    Here you go OZ.

My first run on the Ring. Completely unmodified LMP with no tweaks. Now I just need to dig into the settings and turn the goddamn racing line and arrows off. Spent most of the night in career mode fucking around with karts and Caterham's.

As of right now ranked 39 in the world on my first run. I'll be in the top ten in a couple days on the Ring ;)

This car is a fucking handful but no faults and recorded my time. Fucked up the Carousel

I turned off the driving line

FYI , you can toggle through the various HUD options while you are racing with the < arrow on the arrow pad

I had a hard time getting used to a view I liked but I think I've settled on the helmet cam view

Having a hard time easing on the throttle to not get too much wheel spin off of slow corners

I spent a couple hours in Free Practice mode at Monza mostly getting used to the control feel and messing around with the HUD / display options

I feel like I would do a lot better with a steering wheel and pedals

I tend to change the view depending on the vehicle I'm driving. Though I challenge anyone to drive that car around the Ring in helmet cam view and not wreck lol. Cockpit view is "generally" the view I stick with. I haven't delved into the settings that much just toggled between the views. I didn't know about the< arrow pad though. Thanks! I did stumble across where you can move the elements of the HUD around while paused though. I thought that was a pretty cool feature.

Speaking of easing on the throttle I've got mine set with no "deadzone" and that has seemed to help with being able to ease into the throttle. I was having the same issue as you with wheel spin on exit. Now when I start to pull the trigger it will engage all the way through the trigger pull. Makes modulating the gas much easier (though as you can tell from the video above, was still able to get sideways a few times ).

I thought about buying a steering wheel and have a perfect place for one. I've just used a controller for so long now there is no use in me changing. I would probably love a steering wheel honestly but since I take my PS4 to work I think I would screw up my ability to play with the controller.

On to the game... This is "so far" the best "Racing Simulator" that I have played. I'm sure you can "tune" it down to become more arcadey (if that's a word) but I like the sim side of it. EVERY vehicle you jump into is different and feels completely real. When I jumped in the Caterham during career mode I was ALL OVER the track until I "learned" to drive the vehicle. That's the issue you can tell in the video I posted. That LMP is a beast and that was my first foray into a "hyper" car. But that is what I enjoy about this game. Once you learn what the vehicle is going to do you can peg a apex almost every time. So far I love the drive.

    Yeah.
I am pretty happy with the $90 Thrustmaster. I just can't justify $450 for a wheel even to myself. OZ, you are crafty and can build a steering wheel stand in no time. You should do it.

Started the download last night, thing is still downloading all the game data this morning.

Lol... Took me a 5 min drive to Gamestop and I got the game for free. My friend that works there said "you know you have 60k point's to spend don't you?" "What point's I asked?" Apparently I've been gaining points with all the shit I buy and trade there so I got the Limited Edition game for free, extended my membership for another 2 years, and still had enough to pay for ESO when it comes out in June.

Now get online and race me since I can't get OZ to do it :)

Well yeah. I will be passing on this game.

I never really play any of my systems anymore anyways due to little to no free time for that anymore.

I havent played a pc game in months, and have really only been playing Rallisport Challenge 2 on Original Xbox lately.

I think the xbone will get put on ebay soon.

The biggest missed opportunity on the current gen consoles is they are both missing the marketplace that made the ps3 and xbox 360 so accessible.

I have a ton of games purchased from the PS store that could easily be ported to play on a PS4 and a bunch of Xbox marketplace games that could be ported to play on Xbox one.

The fact that I need to keep a PS3 and Xbox 360 around for digital content is outrageous and completely unnecessary.

So since this is a console review thread that has spiraled into the games you guys play, are you happy with the direction of both Sony and Microsoft now that we are 1.5 years into the life cycle of this generation?

I purchased my PS4 4 months after launch mainly due to not being able to find one, sold that console to my cousin for the Destiny launch white edition.
Purchased the xbox one white sunset overdrive edition to resell and now have the Call of Duty 1tb version mainly cause it was the only version not limited for 500gb internal HDD.

I only own Forza 5 and Forza Horizons 2 on xbox one as all multi-platform games perform poorly on it, And my verdict is that its a mild upgrade from 360 with room to grow and at least microsoft realized they fucked up hardcore by making kinect mandatory along with dedicated system resources locked away from core power for the useless to many add on.

The PS4 has been a solid gaming machine that I am happy to own and I look forward to future hardware and software updates along with upcoming more optimized games.
