I'm almost at 40,000 miles and I've got a lot of weight. I'm going to give them a look but I've got a vibe when I break.

The truck shudders right before coming to a complete stop. I just did the front pads and rotors like a week ago because the rotors were warped and the pads were done and that helped but didn't solve the issue. I haven't looked into it much after that. I'll open up the drum clean and lube it. I'm hoping that's all it needs. The vibe isn't super bad but I'd like to know what it is.

I haven't done anything with my rear brakes and it's an 06. And had a lot of meat on the shoes when I was in there back in November

I've never had a vehicle Modified like this. I didn't know how long to expect out of the drum brakes. Good to know they probably just need service. I'll take a couple days off work and get stuff done. I won't do mods I cant finish correctly. Wish I had it all done a couple weeks ago but I've been busy.

I haven't even serviced mine. Only reason I went in there was to remove axles which I don't think I needed to do. Was only to do my regear

Im willing to bet, your rear shoes are not adjusted correctly.... does the steering wheel shake when braking at all?

this is normal.... youll eventually need shoes depending on your mileage on an 06....

The wheel shudders a little. I'll tear the drums apart before moab.

Its the front rotors. If the steering wheel vibrated, its the front.... common problem on most tacomas man, rear shoes are not edjusted correctly which leads to the front having to do more than they should which leads to them warping. Sounds like to me you need the front rotors resurfaced with an oncar brake lathe and the rear shoes adjusted correctly

I agree with jace. 2 weeks Before the event is not the time to be doing major mods you *think* you need. If you are feeing pressured for time really evaluate what you want and need to get done. Making the event is way more important than adding some lights or gussets. Remember, this is not an expo trip. You are back at camp every night. So you don't need mods that give you every camping creature comfort like if you were in the middle of nowhere. If anyone thinks they can't make the event because of a lack of time for mods...you're fucking crazy and I'll tell you what you need to do and what you can save till you bet back.

Gussets are important to me. Because racetruck...and flying in the dunes...and crack in the frame :anonymous:
    Besides, I'm an expert.

It's not the rotors. The problem was still there after I got the rotors and pads done a couple weeks ago.

"Had" the rotors and pads done. Or did them yourself?
My trust in someone doing my brakes is limited to the distance I can throw said person. Meaning, female midgets and small children have the advantage.
