Anybody have more info on the "shooting" in IV tonight? There is a rumor that it was just a pellet gun which makes sense as I live right there and heard no gunshots.

I thought about going this route and saving myself a bunch of money. I have been reading on TW that a lot of people are saying to stick with OEM because the cheap ones will fail/break not too long after installing them. Replacing them is certainly not a job I want to do frequently.

Did you do the Boot Slide MOD on the ones from the auto parts store?
I have O'Rielly Auto Parts in Santa Barbara. I just called them and they said they can order me brand new Half Shafts for $84.99 each. They also have a Limited Lifetime Warranty. The brand name that O'Rielly sells them as is "Import Direct" but, I'm wanting to know who the manufacturers name is. Any idea?

Well actually mine were tundra axles with the upper lip ground/cut off and a 930 bates boot, so not really the same.

Hmm, I wonder if I could do
The same thing for my truck...
Then again, using the parts that are made specifically for my truck my be less of a hastle.

    I'm a longtraveled 1st gen :)

I've read some say they have good results with stock replacements and some say the blow out easy... It's pretty easy to change them. I mean aren't oem like $700-800 bucks a piece
