Trigger the 4 Banger Now with T4R action!

I really like the way that switch looks. I have spent the morning trying to pick out 4" fog lights for my CBI bumper, have not made up my mind yet - lighting is a very big topic I have recently realized. Flood, spot, HID, LED etc etc.

 

Lighting is easy to get lost in just like suspension. The way it was explained to me is. Led's for casting a blanket of light and filling in the voids from your headlights. Hid's for sending light beyond your headlights. Also positioning has an effect

 

Lighting is easy. The more lights you have, the more you see.

 

That is a good way of looking at it. I kind of figured I would add something for distance eventually, probably some ditch lights too.

I really need to mount my ditch lights I'm in deer central and further up the interior the cariboo are just as stupid

 

Received the lightbar yesterday and got it mounted. The mounting brackets are adjustable, they slide along channels on the back of the light which made for an easy/ clean install using the predrilled holes on the bumper. Still waiting on the switches, but ran the wires I needed to connect once they arrive. Overall pretty happy with the setup, will probably add a couple more LED pods on both sides for wider coverage.

 

Jumped a few wires to the relay when the sun went down to test it out. Pretty happy with the results, first pic is with fogs, brights and lightbar, second lightbar only

 

I do not miss the days of dodging deer where I grew up in Kansas. Not that there isn't anything to watch out for in Colorado, but nothing like when they were running back home.

 

They had open season on them last year further north. They were attacking people in town. They show up in my neighborhood on the regular

 

I like the look. about how much lift did you get out of your setup?

 

Ended up with about 2 inches in the back, and 2.5 in the front with the billies set at 0. I added a 1/4 top hat spacer on each side to level it out more. If I would have been adding a plate bumper and winch right away I would have added toytecs 1/2 spacer in the coil pack to compensate for the extra weight

Edit: I noticed you have a DCSB. If you were looking at a similar setup you would probably want to go ahead and add the 1/2 in coil spacer for the additional cab and engine weight

 

lights look great, seems pretty good coverage as well. I understand about the deer thang, living in Oklahoma and traveling in northern Wisconsin a lot, gotta keep an eye out!

 

No kidding. That drive would be like playing a video game at some times during the year!

 

Otrattw switches showed up, and I got em installed today. Really happy with the results.



Install is pretty easy. I never take enough pics of this stuff, but basically all you have to do is remove the excess plastic on each side that is about 1/8 an inch in. You can see what I'm talking about here



Didn't take an after pic, I'll snap one if I pull one out or install another. A Dremel would be great for this, but I realized that I was out of tips and just ended up using a sharp pocket knife.

I was originally going to move the foglight switch to the upper set of blanks to have all of my lighting together, but decided to leave it where it was. Guess I'll have to add more lights to fill up the rest of the blanks

 

Pulling out a coworkers S10. Yup, he managed to get it stuck on a gravel road!

 

Finally got around to straightening out the gaps on my bumper today. It bugged me every time that I looked at it! Took awhile, but finally sitting right.



Also, small update on my Amazon special lightbar. Lights up great at night, but after all of the rain we have had lately, I have noticed condensation inside. Need to take it apart and reseal. Not very surprising given the price. Have a pair of LED pods coming to put beside the bar for ditch lights, so I will seal them up before they go on.

 

Ditch lights installed today. Easy install as I already had the wires ran. Just tied them into the switch/ relay as the lightbar. Pretty happy with the look, we'll see what the light output is like tonight.

I like that, is the light pattern fairly consistent from center to ditch with that setup?
