On the other hand, just got an update the my Total Chaos Upper Control Arms are out for delivery!!!!

He is going DMZ SUA, but using a hoop instead of cutting into the bed if I understand this right. The TC 2014 build uses this kind of set up with their MT SUA kit. I believe they used a 14" shock though.

I saw a build thread recently where the guy went cantilever. Looked badass as shit.

 

they are badass, but hard as hell to tune.
and expensive to fabricate.

 

I thought he was heading this way, only have the shock \ vs |

 

the shock goes from \ to | from bump to droop

Yes gents, I'm looking at it for what it is which a simple cantilever set up (essentially what we all have) and not the very complex cantilever suspension set ups detailed in the responses above ( They Are Exceedingly Gorgeous Though ) . . .

This is the DMZ set up Tim will be doing except the geometry has changed since this image was captured and is now farther forward and not as vertical.



The shock being displayed is the Colorado Canyon shock as it details the 'Eye to Eye' mounting with my requirement being 12", Non CDC and valved for the Tacoma DCSB.


The bump stop mount will be longer at first, suspension cycled so that the wheels do not hit the factory bedsides, then the bump stop mounts cut to fit.

 

The problem with cantilever is it takes twice the valving due to a small shock maker larger travel numbers, and yes my shocks were angled forward and relatively vertical at full droop.

 

Tim worked on your truck personally and stated this is the configuration he will be using, as per our conversation I was under the impression they upper shock attachment point will be further forward.

Truthfully it is of no consequence to me, this is his kit, he knows this set up like his own children and I have every confidence that the end result will be nothing less than exceptional . . .
