Yeah, I read you had a whole giant cage.....what would be your recommendation then? With not a massive budget. I want to keep the trd axle I have. I like the elocker, and was going to possibly truss it. But I am all ears.

The only thing that Giant actually builds in that kit is the rear shackles and shackle pivots. Everything else is sourced. Springs are from Deaver. Front hangers are from TC. Bash plates and ubolts are from Currie. Spring perch's are from Kartek.

Just buy all the crap yourself separately. The kit is just Geoff's way of putting it all together in a package and then charging your a premium for a "kit." If you're not into making things, you can buy shackles and pivots from TC as well.

Mine is a dd (wanting a solid handling truck) and I wheel from time to time so I don't need a full blown racer.I like your setup jason, and was wanting to do something similar. Small bedcage, shocks through frame and bed, ect. I really like those bash plates too.

I am learning to fabricate, mostly knowing I can install the hardware. What exactly would you go with. And what would be awesome would be to get good bypasses (shocks or whatever), leafs, ect.....for say $2500?

And would you go sua or over?

God damn race truck. Dropped both skids to do more drunken flash lighting. The entire lower fan shroud is gone. Probably somewhere in the Mexicali desert. So I made a new one out of duct tape.

Two rear bolts on the transmission mount walked loose. Passenger walked out a lot, driver side was just barely loose.

And I'm working on making a sand box

My bedcage is anything but small. Regardless, the way I have my setup right now is what I like and what I would suggest.

    • 62" leaf pack. My suggestion would be a Deaver pack based on the H70/E30. E30 is fine for single spare, I'd would do a custom pack to allow for more weight.
    • TC front hangers and rear pivots (or build yourself)
    • 12" shackle (either build yourself or buy)
    • 52.5" hanger to pivot distance
    • 16" or 18" double or triple bypasses (you really only need double with leafs, but if you get a deal on triples, go for it)
    • Bumps. I like mine at 2" stroke so I use more of the shock and less of the bump.
    • Currie bash plates
The rest of the shit doesn't matter. U-bolts, spring perches, bolts, bushings, whatever. Pick your favorite vendor and roll with it. Grade 8 hardware on nuts/bolts. I use 5/8" u-bolts instead of 9/16" though. $2500 can be done if you find a deal on used shocks.

I thought that was our little secret you dirty bastard.

Make sure you pull your weight around here. It's a tough crowd.

    Define "hold up."
I'm still rocking my aluminum IFS skid, and it's beat to shit! I spent 20 minutes today whaling on it with a 4 lb sledge just so it kinda fits again. I like the less weight on the nose to help balance the truck. I'll still keep rocking an aluminum skid, but next time around I'm doing some tube work up front to take the beating.

Go to bed gramps. Don't forget your Depends.
