Pipeline life. I was gonna do solid axle if I stayed in turnaround life. But I can stay in Texas with pipeline work and I actually have always dreamt about being a pipeliner. But I gotta stay on the road for long periods of time like this and staying in hotels cost way too much. So I gotta get a camper. and I love the taco but it does have limits. And making helper money like I am, I can't afford two truck payments. But to make big money as a pipeliner, I gotta stay in this life.

So. Taco has to go if I wanna be a pipeliner.
    Plan:
Gonna try to get stock body panels back on. Go down to 33"s. Post for sale. So I can get a bigger truck that can pull a camper.

    Turnaround life ftw

J/k I don't know how those guys go from turnaround to turnaround on the gulf coast. I don't even like doing it for 30 days.

    Here's my advice.

    - Keep the taco. (Putting money into it to sell, when it didn't sell for 10k last time isn't going to work very well.)
    - Trade the 35's for 33's or smaller, no mud terrains
    - Buy a small 14' or so hard sided camper (Good used campers are in the 6-10k range)

Something like this. Check the local RV dealers for trade ins.

I have been spying on the machinery work the whole time of course...its the most cool to look at. The little 8000hp machine we are overhauling runs at 12.5kRPM...which is pretty speedy for a centrifugal multistage from what I have seen. Pipe is pipe...as are exchangers, towers, and drums.

I just don't know how the taco will pull a camper. Its pretty gutless.

Yeah you do have the 4cyl...I know the 6cyl even struggles with my boat, which while heavier, is probably more aerodynamic than a camper.

Then go the popup route so you don't have the wind resistance to deal with. It's not like you're going to be pulling it every weekend. You'll pull it to the job, set it up, and be there for weeks or months. Struggling a bit while you pull it to the next site will be a lot cheaper than your other idea.

Plus I imagine it'd be easier to sell my truck with stock body panels and stuff. Like spending money up front to get more money out of it.

Doubt you'd want that. These are unevenly worn due to an alignment and have 30k miles on em which means almost time for new set. Plus the wheels have rock rash.

I've pulled a little pop up camper with my truck. It did fine.
I'd say you have to calculate how much you owe on the taco. Then realistically how much you would get back if you sold it. Then compare that to the used full size diesel.

I'd take the payoff for the truck which I honestly think I could get if I got her back to looking stock. Then I'd just go buy a used full size.

$10k lol. I was just trying to sell it like a month ago so things haven't changed much.
