Shame you aren't closer, there's a lady here parting out an entire 2nd gen that's in great shape. Says right on CL that it's her ex husband's from an ugly divorce. Ad has been around for weeks.

Finally...got my all-in-one key from Neneago working and programmed. This took a while to put together, because I refused to pay the dealer any money to enter the key into the immobilizer ECU.

I bought the key on 12/31/14. I then had it cut on 1/7/15 and programmed the buttons the same day.

To enter the encrypted keycode into the truck's ECU, I made two attempts of doing it myself. First, I bought a cable and Techstream software from Amazon. I was successful with the software and cable driver installation. After connecting, it communicated with the vehicle, but didn't offer any options to adjust. It was informational only, so this wasn't going to actually do anything for me. I ended up returning it.

Next, I bought the MVCI cable from China through eBay. I was successful with software and cable driver installation, but the cable communication was lost as soon as I plugged it into the OBDII port in the truck. They offered me a refund, but after cost of shipping back to China, I said forget it. (I might have better luck selling it.) When I asked the seller about the situation, they told me that it wouldn't work with the 2015 Tacoma.

Anyway, TODAY...I was able to get the dealer to program the key for free. I was there last week for my fan belt repair and asked nicely if they would program the key. After speaking with the manager, he said yes. I'm a very happy camper now.

I purchased both that style and the flip style. Took Me a week till the locksmith happened by the shop, he charged me twenty for both.

 

I also robbed the back and button faces from a actual Toyota corolla that came through

 

Decided to go back to the all black wheels look again. It's handy to have an extra set of rings and center caps.

 

I would have paid $20, but the dealer wanted $130. Phuck that!!! It takes all of two minutes.

 

I can do the older ones. My scanner won't do the new ones yet. Maybe on the next update. I do need to try and turn off seat belt warning with my scanner, I have heard it can be done.

 

installed my aux seagate fuse box, 120A bussman breaker and custom panel. Rerouted my reverse light wiring to that.

 

Changed out my rear diff oil. It came out black as night for about 5 seconds, then turned the color and smell of dirty dishwater. Cleaned the plug , put the plug back in and then filled it with 3 qts of Royal Purple 75-90. Way easier than I thought it was going to be! Don't know why I put it off so long.

 

How many miles do you have on it?

 

36k. I've read of people who changed it as early as 5-10k with black fluid coming out. I should have changed it earlier.

 

I didn't change mine until 105k (just ignorance) and it looked and smelled awful. I hope it didn't do any damage.

 

Mocked up a bumper! Hopefully get everything cut and welded, at least tacked tomorrow!!!
