Ok, i barely got 700 miles and noticed already 2 small paint chips on the hood. What the hell is up with this paint these days? Anyone else run into this in their '15 model? Mine is blue ribbon metallic. I touched it up but still sucks cause its less than a month old ! damn it

usually it is the rocks fault that did the damage, if you want the hood to stay chip free, you got to put a protector along the leading edge, you have seen them, long plastic deflectors...

My 2011 did the same thing rather quickly. Now the whole damned truck is covered in chips.

Whats everybody's best recommendation on bug deflectors? Not in fact the biggest fan of them, but like Taco#6, not a huge fan of chips on hood of my 15'

ChadsPride, you got chips already too? Those bug deflectors seem to sometimes do more damage

Yeah, chips (no taters) have been popping up. Again like Taco#6, i have gotten touch up paint....I may be missing something possibly because i have never had bug deflector on any of my 6 vehicles, how does it cause more damage?

ive seen those deflectors beat up against the paint and cause more damage/ caused by wind pressure

Try living in Vermont. They rarely even come off the dealers lot brand new without the first touched up paint chip. Gravel roads, Gravel with rocks the size of large marbles used on the roads in winter instead of sand, horrible tar broken up roads and ruts from years of truck traffic that throws rock filled rain splashes at you as you pass each other during storms...and you wont go a mile without chips in paint. I've even seen battered paint protection film chipped all up in less than a years use on these roads. Just have to live with it or move!

I need some touch up paint too, no chips yet in the first 20kmls beside a small one on the windshield, but I just noticed that there's a tiny chip on the edge of the driver door :anonymous: not caused by a rock

Weather Tech doesn't even come close to touching the hood. Love Mine. Strong car wash blowers etc. No contact at all, just protection...
