The only way to maximize protection and still drive it daily is to bring it to a facility that installs 3-M Paint Protection film and to also ensure you run large enough mud flaps and purchase a hood deflector. Do those things and paint chips will be reduced to hardly none!

I feel your pain, but just wait until you walk out of Wal Mart and find a cart near, or against it. It's a vehicle and no matter how new or old, it's going to get chipped regardless. Some sooner than others.

Get one that doesn't touch the paint. My dads 05 Sierra has had one since new. 150 k miles later and hauling through 10+ states, the hood is spotless behind it. Actually, just recently a massive rock broke through the bug guard but didn't damage anything else except the guard. Finally need a new guard but the hood and fenders it's protecting are flawless.

Got a chip in my '15 already as well. Need to get some touch up paint, for now just waxed the crap out of it. Not a fan of the deflector look, so will probably look at the spray on clear protection film soon.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
Pop into the detailing section and learn how to fix it. It's a truck. Things will happen. If you want to keep it looking nice, you'll either need to work/pay to make it so, or keep it in a show room.

I got a scratch in my 2014 a month after I got it. But I took it off road knowing I'd rather get it there, than have the first scratch from a grocery store.

Yep, I know how ya feel.

For me, my truck was a few weeks old and I parked it in front of a Boy Scout garage sale very near a row of bikes that were for sale.

I thought at the time it wasn't a good place to leave my brand new truck...

Naturally the inevitable happened and scouts/6th grade boys being what they are, someone knocked over the entire row of bikes into my truck leaving it with three small 2 inch "wolverine style" scratches in the B pillar.

    I was pissed.

Buy a doctor color chip kit, does a great job on the chips unlike the vatozone ones.

Get a clear bra while the truck is new, or just assume that in a few years you'll need to paint the bumper.
