It looks unique, that's for sure. If it's functional, even better.

It looks a little out of proportion with the way the truck sits right now but I think it'll look bad ass when complimented by some nice fiberglass, armor, and a MT setup on 35"'s.

It's actually very functional. Depending on what else he does to the engine, it could be a major advantage. As someone else already pointed out, the air moving above/around the opening and up the windshield creates low pressure, drawing the hot air out from the engine bay and, in turn, pulling cold air into the engine bay.

OP lives in El Paso, TX - I don't think it will be cold air, but at least a lot closer to ambient temp, than with a non-functional scoop, extend the life of his engine components.

Haha, for that reason I almost wrote colder instead of cold.

    I dig it.
Also, there's a tactful way to voice your opinion and a non-tactful way... Most of the people commenting were tactful about it and the people that weren't could learn from them

I like it.......it came out a little taller than expected but I do still like it .

    no flame suit needed !

After I get done with more aggressive looking mods , it will fit in a little better

Exactly.....some people don't understand that with Supercharged engines , you get heat soak due to high temps , which robs you of some power . I know i'm not making 600+ wheels horsepower but heat soak effects all power ranges . My hood may not reduce temps by 20-30 degrees but if it even lowers it by a small bit , it is doing what's it should .

    :rofl:that's awesome:rofl:

    Oh shit. Yes sir!
    Do tell!!

Bickering aside, I bet everyone in this thread, no matter what side of the fence during these discussions, would get along just fine and have a lot in common if they sat down with a couple of beers or in my and RearView's case, sweet tea. I think we're all good here.

I'm not 100% sure which parts i'm leaning towards but it will be extreme

My friend has some real talent when it comes to bodywork and paint . Most guys are either good at either bodywork or paint . Very rarely do you run across someone good at both .

I like it too - does something, not just a goofy ornament like on the "Sport" hood or my ancient T-bird. One of my engineers at work suggested that we invent a much narrower version to fit on the RH side of the hood and actually seal it down to the air cleaner of the 4.0. Wouldn't be as far out of the water as a snorkel tube - but way better than the factory piping mess.

Science-wise a 10º drop in intake air temp is a 1% increase in HP.

If there was a long travel kit on it, Fiberglass front and rear fenders, it would look bad ass.
