That was a 3/4" thick piece of construction grade plywood that waa cut to the curve of the wall and drawn into the twist with screws into the wall studs

It does a good job of approximating a fair curve on the top of the wall but I used shims to align the clamping plywood strips I applied that create my bending form in the second pic , and used a 3/8" x 1 1/2" wide strip of VG fir on the left side of the plywood clamping form strips to ensure they form a fair curve

    Hope that makes sense

The full length strip on the left is connecting all the forming plywood strips and ensuring they plane out in a fair curve , it also represents the outside edge of the larger radius railing I'm making and I will clamp my laminations to it

Gotcha. In the pic it looked to just be a standard 1x6

Added another fairing strip to the other side of the form to complete it

Milled the blanks for my handrail laminations today

2 knots , I managed to cut around them and get blanks for all my railing lamination parts

This was a 3"x 8"x 20' beam trimming remnant from one of my house timbers , I've moved it a couple times and seriously considered cutting it into firewood each time .

    Glad I didn't , the grain is awesome .

Just completed a masterbath remodel..First time doing tile work. I had made cabinets before but for a workshop. Wasn't too worried about building these since the wife wanted them painted. I'm happy with the outcome.

I had help for the grunt work. The PITA was crawling through the attic to add bracing to carry the weight.

I helped my electrician install a heavy chandelier above a stairwell , it felt like me arms were 100 lbs by the time he had all the wires tied in and the safety cable attached so I could let it hang on it's own

Improved the first floor laundry. Got rid of the POS front load washer and got this top loader. Necessitating hanging the drier from the ceiling. Works great, wife loves it and can reach all of the controls:thumbsup:

So I imagine you would need some pretty slow-setting glue to get that impressive mess together.

Looking good. I hope you own stock in a clamp manufacture :p When you mill those to bend, does the grain still match?(because of what the blade takes) And is that a Stabila level in the background?
