When we stopped to look at it the first thing the salesman said was "theres no special financing or rebates, that's the price". The sticker was $62 I believe, after a few days of negotiating he got the dealer to come down $1k, that was after I told him that these trucks are in demand and most pay sticker. He works 16 hour days sometimes managing the business so he's busy for him it was perfect, he's a bigger guy so its comfortable for him and he likes to go explore offroad every once and awhile, he also likes to drive things that most people dont, he owned an h2 before his excurison. They arent flashy people by any means, hard working middle class family, he just wanted something fun and new and he likes it alot. But agree, I wouldnt know where to start on that truck. For me this is my 3rd taco and I love these trucks for alot of reasons and one is the ease of being able to work on them.

The reason I'm looking at the taco is because I get conflicting reports on the Ranger. I drove an 2015 F150 XLT FX4 in Bronze Fire Metallic and loved the color. It's huge! We have 2 farms but don't do the farming and I don't need to go off-roading all that often. My 4x2 92 Ranger can't handle soft soil. I'd like a new Ranger but the Tacoma is the only reasonable alternative and it's next gen is coming. I just put $900 into the AC on my Ranger to get me through until I can get a Gen 3 Tacoma.

The floor sales manager at the Ford dealer told me Rangers were coming back in 2017. The moderator on BlueOval.com said not about 6 months ago. So who knows? They outsell every vehicle in South Africa.

You must be one of the many young ones here ....

I've been using a knob for manual seats and every other manual thinga-majig for the past 30 years since I've been able to drive. I don't WANT manual seats anymore. I want to spoil myself as I get older. I've worked for it, I can afford it, and I am not lazy what-so-ever.

You ever think .... some people are constantly busting their-ass at home and at work that their truck - and their daily drive is the only piece of 'luxury' 'comfort' or 'Peace of Mind' and 'escape' they get??

^ I have no problem for people wanting creature comforts. We all want creature comforts. To me though the power seats don't really make me work any less than normal seats. I set my seat settings and forget.

I'm with ya Janster! If I could get a memory seat like my mother-in-law's Buick I would love it! My wife has a setting she uses in our CR-V and I have a very different one. Putting in her key would go to her setting if we had that option available. Putting in mine would set the seat in my settings. My mother-in-law is now residing in heaven and her Buick gone, but boy did I love those settings. I'd drive the truck 90% of the time but having it go back to my settings might be lazy but I, like the Janster, have earned it.

Wow, sounds like a Toyota dealer! 62K is a LOT. And I didn't meany any offense when I said I don't want to drive something flashy, that is not to say only douches or pretentious people drive them. Like you said there are hard working people who can afford it and just want what they want, not everyone wants to spend hours on a forum learning about how to make the truck how it needs to be like we do, or spend even more hours in the garage on it. The argument could be made that Tacomas suck because we have to change them so much. And of course I'm a student so the Taco is for me!

No worries. Im not a student like yourself, well I am part time, but my current truck was a budget stretch for sure so ill be keeping her awhile, unless my dad wants to part with the raptor. I owned a new silverado for a few months and it honestly was just too much truck. Good luck with school!

Yeah you told me about the Silverado. I plan to keep mine for a while too. If he did sell you the raptor, holy hell that's still a lot of money I'm sure! I can imagine two raptors in the driveway  Thanks, I took my last final of this semester today. Still have a 5 page paper to write before Monday. What are you studying?

Well he knows how much I want it and I'm guessing he'd sell it to me for less than blue book, he only financed I think 40k on it after trade and money down down. We will see.

My wifes Acura MDX has that. It is sweet to just hit my fob and open the door and watch the seat and steering move for me! But unless your both driving it a lot I'm not sure it pays to have that. It's a lux vehicle thing.
As far as the 16 Tacoma I'm standing by to see how it performs and definitely give it a year to sort out the bugs.

Well, I've already had a third-life crisis and working on a mid-career professional crisis. More grey hairs than I want.

I have no issue with you wanting power seats. All good. Don't care. I don't even know why you are arguing that. I 100% understand some people want it...not sure why you would jump to such a extreme conclusion. I merely said that I, if given the choice, would take the manual knob and save the weight, since I set the seat once and forget abut it. No need to change it every day I put my busted-ass into the Peace of Mind Chair(tm) for a Comfortable Luxury Escape(r) on the drive home.

What I did have an issue with was this:

You took my comments to the extreme..gaining horsepower by saving weight? Really? I'm not a retard. Also I adore single-click up and down windows and good nav.

Anyhow, enjoy your limited with Lazy-Boy, and I will enjoy my OR with 60 less pounds (or whatever it would be).

This. For the first time in my life I can afford to buy something nice and I want what I want. I have worked my ass off for it and I am going to be comfortable on my long assigned commute to and from my way too long and stressful working day. I could care less about power seats as I'll be the only person driving the truck, but if I'm gonna buy a $40k truck I'd expect them to have them. I would badly like to have air cooled seats but I'm not willing to drive a truck the size of a tank to get them.

A/C seats would be great... that being said I think we are arguing over a moot point. Toyota has already likely decided what they are going to offer in each vehicle. I think it would suit them well to offer some of the creature comforts that we have come to expect from half size pickups. Those who would be looking for the off-road packages likely won't care about heated seats or adjustable seats for that matter. Others want those luxuries and will be willing to pay for them. trucks in general are becoming more of a daily driver for a lot of people and I would imagine Toyota will push some people away if they can't at least offer everything that the twins are at some trim level.

I,m not saying I need power seats. I just know that Limited has become synonymous with luxury model as far as cars and trucks are concerned. To go along with the highest price trim available. Just don,t know if I have ever seen any Limited in any make and model without power seats. Seems like for the price charged power seats should be an automatic thing.:mudding:

    You don't like that feeling?

But seriously, my dad has them in his F150 and I actually really like them.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
Early limited 4Runners. Pretty sure they didn't all have power seats.

But yes its crazy that the limited in tacoma is basically the same treatment as a sonic with vynal seats and navigation and walmart chrome wheel covers.

The seats shown in the 2016 limited look like perforated leather to me. Aren't those usually used in air conditioned \ ventilated seats?

If they have ventilated seats that actually push air through them then I am almost certainly buying a limited and getting rid of all the chrome.

I've had perforated leather in vehicles w/o AC in the seat.
