What brand wheel spacers?

So I'm new to the forum, and this is my first post, but here goes.
I just put a lift on my '13 taco; pro comp 3" in the front, 1" in the back. I mounted 285/75R16 toyo open country at2's and it looks great. Fills the wheel well nicely but rubs like a b. looking to get some wheel spacers to try and reduce or eliminate the rubbing while also getting a more aggressive stance. I'm torn between the 1" and 1.25" but I know I want billet aluminum. Only thing, I'm not sure the best place to get them. Any suggestions?

 

are you rubbing the uca's (upper control arms) or the cab mount (steel mount in the back of the wheel well where the body attaches to the frame)?

 

The reason I ask is. If you have 285s on stock rims you will rub the Upper control arms... So wheel spacers will solve your problem. If you have aftermarket rim with different backspacing and you are rubbing the cab mount. Spacers will make it worse...

The good spacers are bora, allpro, spydertrax...

 

Thanks for the reply, I'm rubbing the UCA's, still running stock wheels. Do you think 1" will be enough distance to stop it altogether? I know it's probably hard to tell without seeing it in person.

 

I know the 1.25 clear it unless your rims have hella back spacing.

 

I'll probably go with the 1.25 just to be safe. I plan on getting rims later anyway so even if spacers don't completely fix it, I can make adjustments then.

Where are you rubbing at on the UCA's? I'm running stock TRD wheels and only rub UCA's at full droop. If I add wheel spacers I'm going to have to do the cab mount chop. Fixing one problem creates another in this area. I'm also running light racing UCA's and have about a 1/2" of clearance between tire and UCA.

Thanks. Also, Wheel spacer will cause rubbing on the cab mount.. But that can be fixed. with a cab mount chop or even just alittle hammering of the pinch weld on the body.

 

I'm rubbing on the forward portion of the UCA about an 2" forward of the UCA ball joint. I tried adding a picture but apparently I'm dumb. I had a friend that had the chop done but I'm ballin on a budget. I'm all for beating the crap out of something with a sledge, but sounds sketchy.

 

OP-when do your tires rub? Full turns to either side?

 

about 3/4 into the turn on either side. for some reason when I'm backing up it's worse though which doesn't seem right to me

 

ehh probably closer to 4/5 than 3/4 its almost at full turn that it starts to rub

 

Your rubbing problem is freaking me out! I am very curious what your wheel backspacing is.

 

I'm running the stock wheels for a 2013 Tacoma base 4x4..

 

stock wheels are 4.5 backspace. to much back space to clear the uca with 285s

 

The stock UCA is probably one of the problems. A aftermarket one would have given a little more clearance.

 

So with these rims and stock UCAs should i put 1.25" spacers on? Or will it rub on the cab mount?
