There was a great photo on Instagram today of the new model lifting it's leg in a nice off camber decent.

It's their Soft-Tex. We have it in our Prius. It simply allows better airflow through the supporting foam. Very comfortable, and not sweaty on very hot days. It makes A/C seats not really necessary, and I live in Central Texas. Of course, the Prius also has the solar roof that runs the A/C fan during the day so the interior is never hotter that the outside air.

Bottom line, it's really comfortable, and not sweaty.

I have always wanted A/C seats. Softex sounds like a nice compromise.

Thanks for the info. Soft-Tex sounds interesting. I am a huge fan of cooled seats. I live in Florida and want my next new truck to have them.

Drove a new F-150 this week with that option. I really want something smaller, Tacoma, but I have to admit that truck feels light to drive. You can whip it around pretty good without feeling like it is gonna roll over but pricing is outrageous and I already have a 08 Tundra for large pickup needs.

Canyon and Colorado feel like mini vans to drive and don't even offer dual temperature control. Never mind cooled seats. And, you cannot get new safety collision avoidance systems in off road models.

Another question... When are we gonna get all the info from Toyota as to tech specs and options available? Place your bets!

Why release specs now and possibly hurt selling off what you have left of current inventory. I know Tacomas sell themselves but I am guessing that is a risk they don,t want to take

I am guessing that most companies use the last minute spec release technique I mentioned above. What if the 2016 mpg is 4-5 difference instead of the probable 2-3 increase. That could affect someone's decision on waiting for the 2016.

I totally agree, I just have low expectations. 25 MPG hwy.
Question: Why don't automakers make transmissions with super short first gears for more efficient accleration and super tall gears for highway? It doesn't seem that hard to improve the fuel economy that way. But I know they know what they're doing which doesn't make sense to me.

They do as Rock said. That's why I want a BMW 335 (8 speed AT) 0-60 in 4.7 sec and mid 13's 1/4 mi if you want to go fast and 33 (claimed) MPG hwy?

I just must not follow other manufacturers the same as I do Toyota. I always find tech specs when I look up other vehicles haha. Maybe they all hold out and I just didn't recognize it as I was never really in the market at that point. :notsure:

Not sure why I even care about the power seats thing. The more I think about the new Tacoma the more it looks like I will be going with the TRD off road access cab.

Well according to an employee at Toyota today I was talking to, though you can never truly believe what they say, they will be bringing one of the Tacomas to our dealer in about 2 to 3 weeks so people can see it and start preordering. And he says we'll be able to sit in it and such, hopefully. So I'm hoping maybe they'll have some sort of stats by then. Not sure who's dumb enough to preorder with no stats.

I hope your dealer is right. I can't wait to find out the specs and all of the colors that are going to be offered.
