What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Bought the same as a bandaid, but over like 9 monthsn the inner part is real rusty. I want to get a new different one

 

Does anyone know the increase in approach angle with an offroad bumper? I am sure it's increased but a lot of them seem to just out and not help that much. The one being mocked up right now is not what I'm referring to.

SO I had a long conversation with my father today about the entune radio and the back up camera. On the 2012 model, the back up camera is shown up on the entune radio. Is there a way to get it to show up on both the radio and the mirror? You can see that there is the tv screen in the mirror if you look at it from the side. If i didn't have the entune radio then it would be in the mirror. I was just curious if someone out there has messed around with that and got it to work?

 

I just did the opposite on my 2009, swapped the deed from the mirror to the head unit. I wonder if the wiring would be similar

 

I don't have the entune and got a harness on ebay that transfers the image to the screen. There are some threads on here about it and i think you can get it on both at the same time by not splicing a wire or doing it slightly different. Not sure if it works in reverse, though since I spliced into the wiring for my mirror screen

Do you have a write up gor this? I have a Pioneer avh-3400 and want the b/u camera on it instead of mirror.

 

I do not have a write up, but I changed my mind and have my backup cam feeding into the head unit and the mirror. It is just easier in terms of wiring so I didn't have to get into the mirror wiring at all. Do you want both to show the cam feed? or just the radio head unit? Also, does the avh-3400 have a reverse sensor wire? You will need that as well to get it to push the feed when you go into reverse

It was a busy week.. And I loved it.

 

Kind of lame compared to some of you guys, but I plasti-dipped the chrome toyota icon in the grill. I just hated that big hunk of chrome in the middle of flat black.

Curious why you got rid of the LED tails for the incandescent bulbs? I've seen a couple of tacomas driving around now that were 2012+ but had the older style tail lights.
