What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Windows tinted, all four doors and the rear picture window. Next will be a set of 4" Neff bars, but that may be awhile. If I could figure out how I'd post some pics

 

My 2012 came with incandescents. I'd love to have LED.

How did you get a 2012 with incandescents? My 2011 came with LED's.

 

My 15 base came with non-leds id trade if someone wanted to lol

 

Damn, I didn't realize the base models came with them. I figured they all had LED's. That seems like a waste to make two different housings for the same truck.

 

For 6 years I thought the same! Glad u asked.

 

They're basically plug and play.

Three or four connectors. The connector for the LED bundle accepts a bulb as well.

Same exact mold for both.

 

Same here. I'll be damned. I always used the led tailights, newer style grille and headlights, and the shark fin antenna to tell the year. Seems I might have been wrong on a few.

Picked it up from the Dealership today after some needed repairs/service. Got the front pads replaced and rotors resurfaced after NTB finally warped them good, brake fluid flush and replace front pads, back shoes were only 20% worn after 154K miles, tires were starting to cup so one or more shocks were bad, replaced all 4 of them at once, driveshaft got greased, bolts tightened, and I had a slow leak in one wheel forever so the stem seal got replaced on the TPMS sensor. It was expensive but it rides and drives like it is brand new again and I would swear it feels like it is slightly taller than before. They also honored my request to NOT have the brake override program flashed to the ECU, do NOT trim the gas pedal or mess with the floormat clips.

yea i wanted something different...and this was cheaper than doing the whole front end facelift...plus i prefer the original 2nd gen front over the newer 12+ lol

I catch myself doing the exact same thing. Guess I won't be using the tail lights to help figure out the year anymore.

 

I retro fitted my backup lamps with LEDs... they SUCK! I think the reflector geometry needs to be modified for LEDs to work properly.
On the other hand the interior LEDs work great! Way more light than the the pale yellow glow of the stock incandescents.
