So - Why else would you want to lose the weight if its not for horsepower or gas mileage?? Whatever your reasoning is.... removing one thing (power seats) isn't going to help. You need to remove ALL luxury items from the truck to make any substantial weight savings.

I have an issue with.....If you remember - you referred to me as being LAZY. TWICE. You've also offended everyone else on this forum as being lazy (power seat lovers).

 

Also.....Toyota needs to keep up with the rest of the market. If all the other $40k mid size trucks have power seats and Toyota decided NOT to put power seats in....You're gonna lose customers. Power seats is no longer a luxury item, but has become a standard.

Heated seats isn't something you see as a standard, at least not yet - but it won't be too far behind. I don't expect to see Heated seats in the 3rd gen. I'll just have to install it myself like I did on my 07.

Cooling seats....that's a luxury for sure. My husbands 2015 Infinity has it. I'm always a cold person - so I'm not concerned about the cooling part. However - with leather seats in the summer time, the cooling is definitely helpful.
The cooled seats in his Infiniti aren't air cooled (like we thought), but are some sort of device (ceramic?) that gets warm or cold depending on the electric current (according to the sales rep). We thought that was interesting (the technology).

 

Typo or have you not looked at the pics & videos that are out? Off-Road & Limited models both have heated seats for sure.

 

Didn't offend me...power seats are pretty lazy. The truck market has gotten pretty soft handed, seems like the majority don't really used trucks as trucks anymore. The amount of fluff people demand now-a-days, is laughable....kinda sad really.

Here's a thread from when they were first releasing the 2012 redesign. Nobody was a fan then either.

 

I think all the truck manufactureres, Toyota-Ford-Chevy-Dodge, should produce one model to satisfy the "I wanna go back to the 1950's" buyer.

No power windows
No power locks
No airconditioning
No radio
No power seats
No heated / cooled seats
No nav
No power or heated mirrors
No moon roof
No cup holders
No seat belts or air bags
No warning lights
No TPMS
All steel dash and headliner
Vinyl floor
No radial tires
No bed rails and cleats
No fog lights
No alloy wheels
No electronic 4x4

I'm half serious. They could produce a bare bones truck. I actually people would buy the heck out of them.

Too bad the .gov wouldn't allow it. Welcome to the "free world".

 

This is the non-complaint thread, but here goes my 30 second comments on it.

I have a sneaking suspicion I will end up in a 3rd gen as I have a feeling the AccessCab I have now won't kid well. I really hope you will be able to get the sunroof on the SR5 model (though I highly doubt it).

There's a great truck between the models, but what stinks is for my needs there's no off-the-shelf perfect setup. Admittedly I don't like the Sport or OR wheels, so those those would go as well as the grille. The OR flares being black don't really work for me, but the Sport hood scoop is a deal-breaker. The Limited is probably the best fit since I'd just have to change tires and tail lights (and maybe trade seats for the non-leather), but we will see.

That's why I'm hoping there's an SR5 model with hopefully basic tail lights and grille as well as basic wheels. If it's got the moonroof, I've got almost exactly what I want (assuming the flares are body colored).

Hopefully that's not too complaint filled.

 

Hells yeah, could probably sell it for under $15K...

I had to look up "TPMS"....that is how much I have been out of the loop.

Miss my old '76 F250...I could literally hose out the interior. The only option I really cared was 4WD.

 

And a power moon roof.

So... It is completely and totally ridiculous ( to me anyway) that they wouldnt have power seats.

I don't know how many ( if any) manufacturers that don't have power seats standard in the upper range packages.

 

Good grief! Are you all still moaning about power seats? I thought this was called "The thread for NOT bitching about the 2016."

 

Power seats are nice for making small adjustments and lumbar support. They are a pain in the ass if you go from a short driver to a tall driver. For me its not a deal killer but for the cost of the vehicle I would expect them to add it. They have a power drivers seat in some of the Corolla models.

 

Did you read through the posts, way more love and support for that truck with most complaints about the chrome than the 2016, cant really compare, although I love alot of things about the 2016, the design is overall horrible and slapped together, that grill even after almost 6 months still hasnt grown on me.

 

I have the loaded corolla. . No power seat.

I am glad! Im over 6 foot and my wife is barely 5 feet. Its so much easier and faster without power seats to switch drivers.

 

I checked the website and the Corolla had a power driver seat in the top trim level. Might be a feature that was added

 

I felt the 2012 refresh was an improvement over the 05-11...I instantly liked. This 16...I have a hard time looking at it.

 

If you read through the thread, there is so much less hate than there is for the 2016s most people are complaining about the sport upgraded chrome package which toyota did away with in following years and put on the limited. It's been almost 6 months I look at pictures all the time and still cant get past the hideous front end and stupid fender flares and door window piece. Some vehicles just dont grow on you, nor should you be expected to start to like something that is ugly to begin with. I still am not a fan of the new silverado front ends and I see those everyday.

 

Not just here either....plenty of hate of the '16 on other forums. I would say the majority of people do not care for it. I do find it funny that the people who do like it, are telling the ones that don't "oh, you'll get used to it"...

The 4Runner has been out for awhile...I still can't stand how it looks.

 

Different Stokes for different folks I guess. I did not like the new 4runner at first but it grew on me. Some trim levels look really good IMO. It was certainly a big jump in style though for sure.
