    Fancy new hubs and studs!

I keep trying to remember to get some spare studs after seeing ant lose a wheel on the highway.

Was bored with not doing anything but maintenance with red so started to fiddle.

    Rough cut...

Some filler and rough sanding test fit...

As can be seen in that list pic I still have a bunch of body working left to do but you get the idea. I also need to test fit in the truck and integrate the double din HU with the system. I think this should keep me busy over the next few weeks or so.

That's what I'm doing going to recess it behind the dash. It should turn out pretty killer. I'm gonna try with the DD Hu first and see if it fits?

Still about 10 hours of body work, sanding, and painting left also more grinding and fitment, but not to shabby for a 1st fit!

I thought about that option but don't want to have to lean over while driving for adjustments.

Yeah was crazy I dont wish that on anybody!

So I decided the center console was the spot. Alpine says not to mount at more than a 33 degree pitch but Im pretty sure thats for proper CD operation, after all who the hell uses CD's these days? So I made a mounting plate to house the unit in the console but once again it's back to some more body working and paint. I should still have space to toss miscellaneous crap in there but we shall see?

Still a long way to go but I'm making progress at least. I also have to make up a wiring harness to span the distance up to the factory location.

can you give some info about what all is going on?

looks like an iPad mini in the dash, then I'm guessing to control it is basically an iPod integration kit for the head unit?

That pretty much sums it up although the HU has complete I pad DAC so no need for any other bits. I test fit it into the console and its a close fit but I will need to glass in some areas which will be next along with the extended wiring harness and making the front panel for inside the console.
