Im going to have to agree, while not my first choice of vehicle, it looks pretty cool and seems well done with minimal hack.

Plus, you guys should see what kind of women those guys pay to be at the car shows.

That's honestly 3 more people than I expected to be into them. I've always abhorred the look of dropped pickups. Different strokes, as they say.

    Hell yeah, man.

I wish personal taste wasn't subjective because I would love to ask you why you like them. I just don't see the draw. At least they're not stanced.

I don't mind a truck lowered for handling...the contrary, I considered it for my Dak, and would have if it weren't so rusty. :(

This is a nice lowered truck:

Not stupid-low, no need to hack the frame or suspension...still useable as a truck.

Well that definitely got people talking lol. I like it for what it is - a lot of work and pretty clean. I'm into usable trucks, but I thought it had a cool thing going on. This which I found today in Long Beach however, is a lift kit away from being respectable in my book lol

I like this one a lot. Don't know if I'd ever buy a lowered truck or build one (due to the amount of work it would be for something I couldn't use for most things I like to do), but I like the aesthetics. I also like offroad trucks; just two different kinds of beasts I suppose.

That doesn't really look lowered to me. Most 2wd pickups have a lower ride height than their 4wd brothers. That's what this looks like to me. I don't mind this look at all.

I do admire a well-dropped vehicle (truck or otherwise) from a mechanical viewpoint. Dropping a vehicle right and having it drive fine isn't always easy. I'm just not a big fan of them - or at least pickups.
Overall, that one does look pretty good. That color is crazy. Too low for my taste but, as you said, a lift kit would be all it needs.

Speaking as someone that OWNS that style Dak...it's lowered. At a guess, a 1/3 or maybe a 2/4 drop. Stock-height 2WD Daks ride fairly high. (Probably 3-4" higher than a 2WD Taco.)

A stock 2WD Dak will fit 235/75R15's easily. (The stock 215/75's look too small.)

That's pretty good for a 2wd. Though I'm not entirely surprised. Dakotas are probably the biggest mid-size pickup, 2wd or 4wd.

    Lowrider truck?
Isn't that like dressing a supermodel in a burlap sac?
    Is there anything more pointless?

My 95 Dak is the same size as a 2G Taco, more or less. (Though I suspect a later Dak is a bit larger.)

    But I have a V8. :D

This is essentially how I see it. Even ignoring function, though, I just don't like the look. There's a pretty big fan base for them, though. Strange.

Yeah I believe the second gens got a big of beefing up, sort of like the Tacomas. Apparently small is never good?! But that V8 option was a pretty big deal for them Dakotas. Even now, I can't think of any mid-size/compact trucks that have V8 option.
