I'll start out saying hi and that this is my first post.

I bought '15 DCSB TRD Off-road in February. At first I thought the clear protectant film was dirty but after looking at it a little closer it looks like the paint along the rockers is orange peeled. Is this common and can I take it in on warranty?

Mine was like this the day I bought it too. Not sure it's a defect. Like that on the whole truck (on the rocker panels). It's a pretty clearly defined straight line front to back so I think it was intentional.

I believe this is normal. It helps prevent rock chips on the rockers..

Pretty sure they have a rock guard paint down there that leaves a textured appearance.

I think it's supposed to prevent rock damage or something. My truck has it too.

Normal. Toyota has been doing it for awhile. I thought the same thing with my 2002.

I have it on my 15. Heck I'm pretty sure I had that on my 95.5. Totally by design

Supposed to be there. I freaked out the 2nd day I owned my truck because I saw it out my window at work. The dealership just laughed when I called them about it.

Perfectly normal and a good thing. Less likely to chip.

I haven't read the previous responses, but the paint texture there is normal.

I laughed too when I read the thread starter.

    It's rock guard. It's a good thing.

    Now you know.

Thanks everyone! I was definitely about to call the dealership up and ask this question. I ran my hand across it this morning and there is a distinct line I just couldn't see. Now I know.
