Well, the stock antenna does not go down...so there is no way to take it through a automatic car wash! I just realized that. I'm in "awe"...o_O I only have 10K miles! more to learn...

I have about 30 automatic car washes and a stock antenna that disagree.

They have these things called wrenches, if all else fails.

What kind of antenna/carwash are you using/going though?

I have a 4.5in lift in the rear and a 4ft CB antenna on the top of the bedside and even I can go though an auto carwash. My CB antenna does bend and flex as I go through though.

Just remove the antenna with a wrench or a antenna wrench. If you bought the truck new, chances are the little wrench is in your glove box. It really made things simple when I was still running the antenna and going through washes, instead of having to worry about it breaking.

In the interest of laughable honesty, I went through the touchless carwash at my friends work just to see if the antenna would hit anything. Well as the sprayer arm worked around it certainly hit stuff, but overall no damage to anything. Was funny watching the guy in line behind me flash his lights to warn me about the antenna. I think I'll probably start unscrewing the mount from now on though.

Did it hit the sprayer arm itself? I have a 4' Firestik mounted to the front rail, always been curious if it would hit if I left it up.

Yeah, it hit the sprayer arm and the moving arbor that allows it to move along the length of the truck. The sprayer arm looks like an upside down L, like this one.

Same style, ok good to know.

I've never felt the need to remove my AM/FM antenna for it though :/

Bend and flex yes. Not to such varying extremes that they are subjected to if left in during the carwash. Not to mention the stud which screws into the base has a higher then likely chance of breaking right at the base if the assembly is old. It's really just cheap insurance to remove them and let the carwash do it's thing. Not to mention by removing it periodically you lessen the chance of the stud seizing inside of the assembly, which would lead to potential breakage.

Just to let you know, there should be a antenna wrench that came with your pro in the glove box. Maybe in a bag or something. I have had my pro since October. I have only gotten 6,000 on mine due to being sick the last couple of months and couldn't drive. I take mine through a no touch car wash without the rag rollers, its a newer no touch wash, if you take it through a rag roller wash, your surpose to remove the antenna, which takes 5 minutes. I love my inferno Pro, even though it was a little pricey but I wish I had the power the 2016 is going to have which is 305 horses to our 236 or say 242 with the black cat exhaust. Of course for about $5000 you can install the turbo charger witch would give you 305 horses !

I haven't been in an automatic car wash ever since I got my stinger. I only used the touchless ones because I don't trust the brushes. I'm not sure how the sensors would react to my stinger so I don't want to risk it

Took my Taco through onlyabout a dozen car washes in 10 years., no troubles. We had a new one open up in town so went through it to get. Good discount on gas. Guy asked me if I wanted to remove my antenna and I said "naa....nothing's happened so far". Well, this time my antenna did snap off and I had to replace the whole assembly $360 I recall. So, I learned my lesson..the hard way.
