It's a fun little gun to shoot. cheap too. I would like to buy the 5" P22 one of these days. But there are others on this list to buy first

Sig 556 or LMT CQB MRP defender 16" piston?

    So I hear both sides.

AR pros - huge after market, lots of options.

Sig - built of a similar system as the AK - takes a kickin - keeps on tickin.
-the feel of this rifle felt a bit ...plasticy.

All mighty gun nuts - speak upon me your words of wisdom!

My father voted for the AR, (he is a firearms instructor), my buddy voted for the AR (he is a police officer). So, its been very one sides, anybody with some pros for that sig? (don't know anyone with one to test it out)

Between the two, LMT ftw imho. The only gas piston rifle I'd invest in is the LWRC.

That's what I have. Very expensive and I probably didn't need it but I sure am glad I've got it now. ;)

The LWRC is going to run you in the range of $800 to $1200 for the upper and about $1800 to $2000 for a complete gun. But to be honest I wouldn't buy an LWRC if you want a piston AR, I would go with Lewis Machine and Tool with their monolithic rail system. Plus the are a little less expensive than LWRC from what I have seen. http://www.lewismachine.net/store.php?cid=11&session=5493ba5d4a17800177c1e416e8edee36

Then there is always the HK MR556 that is supposed to be out sometime in the near future. Or you could wait for bushmaster to release the magpul creation Masada (and no that is not where i got the name).

I hear you.Tell my why lmt over lwrc?I understand cost , other than that I mean.I think all AR prices are outrageous , even the garbage ones.Price is not the issue.I think lmt and lwrc are top dogs but you got a pro/con list?

Well for one you get a one piece upper, that means your sights stay zeroed anytime you do something to the barrel. Then you have the fact that LMT has a two stage trigger in their lowers, thus giving you a better trigger pull. Then, and I personally think this is key, they were no the first to try this piston technology in the new M4's. They let other test it out and learned from their mistakes. The LWRC has been around for some time, but the piston platform is not new by any stretch (Armalite AR180 i think). I'm not saying that LWRC is bad or even not as good as LMT, but for me its bang for the buck. Instead of just getting a standard piston gun you get some pretty cool features for about the same, if not cheaper price.

    Just my .02

Everyone has their own brand preferences, and you couldn't make a bad decision going with either of the two. So rest assured you'll be getting a solid gun no matter what you do.

Nice 870, great color choice. Looking at this makes me want to get speed feed pistol stock for my 1300 defender.

If LWRC didn't exist, I'd get an LMT piston upper. But from my research (and I did a lot before I dropped $2000+), LWRCs short stroke piston system is the best made imho. I bought mine when the M6A2 first came out (serial # ~20) and paid $2100 with a police discount. Now they can be found for under $2000. My wife's brother got one for under $1800.

I prefer an adjustable stock to a fixed one and due to Mass state laws and me not being able to move to NH at this point in time I have to have preban lowers to have a collapsible stock. As well as not being able to get what I want for a pistol and other various retarded state laws.
