I was so glad I got my Tacoma before the body style change. While I prefer the new interior, I hate the new exterior. To each his own I guess, but I put my money into a color matched satoshi grill, a plate bumper, and now retrofitted projector headlights. I am assuming that your parts cost a similar amount. Why not go a similar route instead of faking the new body style?

I had this exact idea too! Sweet! :D

How hard was it to install? And I assume you had to get the pieces painted?

tanks! ive loved swb since I first saw it <3

    thanks guys!

I love the angles the newer front end has, and after I saw the 3rd gen I knew I was keeping my 2nd gen and decided to make it unique. I know plate bumpers and satoshis are popular around here but to be honest I don't like them at all, and wouldn't put it on my truck if you gave it to me. whereas what ive done is one of a kind for speedway blue. also its hardly fake since every part I used is OEM and not aftermarket; I modified my front end like a lot of guys around here, I just went a different route, and have different priorities for my build and I have no regrets.

yes I had to get all the pieces painted. I had the place that did the paint work do the complete install for me in a day. I had intended to do it myself but due to some circumstances and the nominal extra amount it cost I just had them do it instead.

Looks awesome, what did the cost end up?
Some 2015 TRDsport decals would finish it off!

thanks! read page 9 of build thread for the breakdown, but suffice to say its 4k, but will end up being 2k after I sell the takeoff parts and some other things.

I have some newer style off road decals im putting on there when I get the time, the sport ones I have now need replacing anyhow, they are starting to wear at the edges.
