I'm looking for my first Tacoma and found a 2013 TX-Pro double cab, but not finding much information on this model.

Is it just badges or is it worth pursuing.

    Thanks for the help.

TX - Pro's are simply TRD Off roads with different rims, trd cat back exhaust, and badging. No suspension differences at all.

The TX pro also comes with the TRD short shift kit and TRD shift knob.

IMHO this is how a TRD off road should come, with all the TRD parts... from the factory.... silly manufactures and their games, would almost think they trying to fool the consumer..

I just purchased one myself.. 2012 TX pro. with 32k miles. double cab short bed 6 speed manual. I love it. I do not talk up this model over the OR model, though I assume many do since a lot of people bash the TX pro as ONLY an OR model... rightfully so, if i had a TX baja... I would feel one up already out the show room :)

My main reason for going with the TX over the OR was the fact I could not find the color I wanted nor a decent condition OR. Let alone there was little if any price difference between the two on the current used tacoma market.

Yes thank you for pointing that out. I stand corrected!!! Sorry for misleading the OP.

I was lucky enough to get the window sticker from the original owner (i am the second owner) and it clearly shows the quickshift kit was added from the factory and not as part of trd package nor tx package.

Well I have only driven 2 different 2nd gens, both had the quickshift, both tx pros, one was a acc 2011 and the other was by dcsb 2012. So I have little to compare with. This forum has plenty of threads with negative feedback on the 6 speed manual, a few people reply with saying the qucikshift helped... I have a few moments when I bitch and moan, but honestly I love it. I did a lot of reading before buying, I prob could have done more test driving. Reality was I had my heart set on a taco and I just can not bring myself to buy automatic..

    Thread jack... Sorry OP!

FYI to the OP: I found my tacoma on ebay, moments later found it listed on TacomaWorld, and about one month later I was in Tulsa buying it, 23 hours later pulling into my driveway in NY.

I've had my baja 6spd since late February and love it!!!! I finally got around to putting in my trd quick shifter and now I love it even more. It to me makes it even more enjoyable to drive. It was a relatively quick and easy installation. It definitely makes the throws shorter.....bottom line, in my opinion it's a must if you drive a manual .

You guys actually had a descent conversation going on , with some good comparisons. me and my wife both got 2015 tacos and we both love them. Of course I got the Pro with a automatic and she got the off road with the tow package. Now that I know what the HP is going to be in the 2016 witch is 305hp , I kind of wish I would have waited. of course for about $5000 I can install the super charger on mine witch would give me 305hp ! A lot of money for the HP. Now she got the 6 speed manual, now I compare it to a 2005 ford ranger that she was driving before with a 5 speed manual and the taco is geared a lot lower with the overdrive. I haven't had her pickup off road yet but I bet it climbs good in low gears ! Anyway you guys enjoy your rides because we sure enjoy ours !

Welcome ....and I love that color. I was trying to get my hands on a inferno dbl cab 6spd but it didn't pan out. I ended up with my baja which is essentially the same thing minus more dough and the color. If you get a quick shifter, I found the best price at sullivanbrostoyotaaccessories.com. $279
