Bought and installed a pop & lock. So easy to install

I've had mine for 6+ years without issue. Mine doesn't look anything like that though.

 

Washed, waxed and detailed the inside. Much better.

$100 PL5400 Black Manual Tailgate Lock with Bolt Codeable Technology for Toyota Tacoma

PL5400, bolt codeable lock. Pretty much uses your ignition key to manually lock and unlock it. When you first get it you're gonna to have to code it to your key. It comes with instruction. I recommend using silicone lubricant on the bolt itself so it doesn't seize up or something. Plus about it is that it looks factory.

 

Had to repair my drive belt the other day
