Are any of you guys watching the News, this 6-year-old got inside a balloon and now it is up high in the air! They do believe he is inside, but I sure hope he is not! They said It's going about 25-30 MPH and is about 2,000 feet up. I'm not sure at this point what they can do, but I hope they can get him down safely!

    Hope everything turns out ok!
A couple years back here in Central Oregon I saw a guy fly by in a lawn chair right above the house. The guy strapped himself in with around 100 helium balloons and took off a couple blocks from where I live. Flew for 9 hours...got up to 16,000 feet, and went 193 miles. He took along a bb gun to shoot out balloons so he could land, and touched down in Idaho in some farmers field.

Why did they have a large inflated balloon in their backyard anyway?

Dad's an inventor... and, apparently, an idiot.

I still haven't seen what happened to the boy. The balloon came down in a field, and they popped it so it wouldn't go anywhere, but he wasn't to be found. Don't know if he fell out or if he was never in it.

Quite a prank if he let it go and let people think he was inside... will catch a beating for it, if that's what happened.

I'm not sure exactly, but there are reports that his dad is into weather chasing and weather related stuff. They also reported that he may have been building an experimental weather balloon of some sorts, or something else that is used for his weather hobby.

This family was also on the T.V. show "wife swap". And some are saying this could have been a stunt to get back on T.V. or something, but it doesn't look like that to me. If it is true than there could be some jail time.

They now think the boy may have fell out, or is hiding somewhere.

Yeah... I really hope he's hiding somewhere. It's gonna be really sad if he fell out.

This just in......he was found alive.:D

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – A 6-year-old Colorado boy feared to have floated off in a helium balloon has been found safe at his home, hiding in a cardboard box in the garage attic. Sheriff Jim Alderman turned to reporters during a news conference and held thumbs up and said, "He's at the house." Alderden said an investigator on the scene saw the boy and he was fine.
He said the boy apparently has been in the attic the whole time.
The boy's brother had said he saw 6-year-old Falcon Heene get in the balloon before it took off. The flight last two hours and spanned 50 miles and set off a frantic search.

I'm glad the little peckerwood is OK, I'm wondering at this point why they didn't think of looking in the attic sooner?
