2000 Chev s10 4x4. Great up to 45000km then went to shit, multiple times on a tow truck, front end issues, sensors, paint, and then more front end issues LOL, head gasket, broken seat recline handles(multiple) and the list goes on. The chev dealer and tow truck driver knew me personally, glad I bought the extended warranty.

Traded it on a 2007 colorado Z71 4x4. Issues started at 60,000km. Front end components started to go, heat shields, sensors various other issues. Got rid of it and bought a new Tacoma.

Owned a few full size chev’s previous to the two small trucks that were good reliable trucks, the s10 and the Colorado on the other hand were both garbage!

Chevy Aveo. I swear the damn AC compressor went out every year....in the summer since we got it. Not to mention that air bag light that came on within the first few months that the dealer could never figure out why. Got it to go off for a little while but came back on....that's when it was traded for the Tacoma. Also, that little switch that goes under the break pedal that controls the break lights on these cars. That thing seemed to want to go out about once a year. Never did get rear ended though because of it.

Of all the cars I have owned my 1996 Chevy blazer was the most unreliable car out of the lot. It spent more time in the shop than on the road and it just so happened to be my first car so that kind was kind of a bummer. But without it, I would never have bought my Tacoma! Traded that thing in towards the Tacoma in 03. Best decision ever!

5100s (2.5" front), OEM Raptor wheels, 315/70/17 BFGs, Undercover, tint, Weathertechs.
All of the vehicles I've personally owned have been pretty good, with the worst being my 2003 Mazda6 that had a check engine light constantly due to a gas cap code (replaced with numerous OEM caps, never fixed it). But all in all, I've had good luck with cars (as has my family). Worst car I've ever been around was my buddy's Chevy Blazer, must have been around a 2003 model. Brake lights never worked correctly, made all kinds of noises, but even it never broke down.

Best vehicles I've owned/family has owned were easily my 1995 Toyota Avalon (BEST car ever, wish I still had it) and 1990 F150 4x4 w/ the inline 300 six cylinder. That thing took a beating (was hooked up to a trailer essentially 100% of its life) and never broke down.

Bet you wished you had put it in a barn to sell now.
Yes that's one that would top the list or any thing with a 2.6L Mitsubishi engine.

Apparently you havent been following automotive news for the past decade or more. Factory engines are more powerful now than ever before, AND they meet much tougher emissions standards, are more efficient, and more reliable. Dont get me wrong, I love the old high compression V8s, but they can't hold up to what's out there today.

Not to mention how much better the brakes are for stopping all that power. Muscle cars were notorious for all engine and nothing else. We're smack dab in the middle of the "Golden Age of Automobiles".

I knew a guy like this who loved to brag up his Neon to his neighbors with Camaro's, Corvette's, and Mustangs. Dodge/Chrysler made some fast Neons, especially the SRT4, but that doesn't make it a muscle car. It's a fast FWD I4 that also happened to be a shit box. No offense on the shit box comment, but how many Neons do you see running around? Anyone keeping them as collectors? The answer is almost none are still on the road and no one wants to keep something that's worth scrap and parts in the driveway or garage for show.

Calling a Neon a muscle car is like calling the Pontiac Fiero an exotic.... Sure they each have some attributes like a car of that definition on paper, but neither fits the bill at all in person or when driven.

Cars like the Mustang and Camaro have editions that collectors fight over and large displacement engines in light bodies hooked up to the rear. That's what makes them muscle cars.

The two Land Rover Discoveries I've owned. Head Gaskets, Sun roof leaks, Coolant leaks, drive shafts and a million other things. I loved my first one so much though I bought another. Finally got tired of the trouble and bought the Taco. The Disco has way more character though that's for sure.

x2 on the neon being a shitbox

As far as what makes a "muscle car".. it's any 2-door american made coupe with a powerful engine that's intended for high performance driving. There's no rule that says the engine has to be in the back or that collectors must be fighting over editions. The things that muscle cars tend to have in common are that the body and suspension are simple and that they are made to go in a straight line. When the first generation of neons came out, they were very lightweight yet the sport coupe had 150hp. As a point of comparison, the civic only had 102hp and the corolla only had 115, 150 was significantly more powerful than most cars on the road at the time. This, coupled with the low weight of the neon which weighed in at 2300lbs (about the same weight as the door off a camaro), made it a decently powerful car in its day. Chrysler put effort into selling it to the autocross community, they offered packages with special rims, spoiler, graphics, dual stainless steel exhaust.. Then in the 2nd generation they came out with the SRT-4 which sort of transitioned the car into the sport-tuner community as it had a 215hp turbo and sport suspension, 4 wheel ABS etc etc. To this day different models of the neon are still a part of muscle car and sport/tuner car communities.

    Still a shitbox though..

My tacoma, hands down. The damn gas gauge light keeps coming on when I get low on gas.

Agree to disagree. Remember that same weight Camaro could come equipped with an LS series engine. That's what makes a muscle car.

I dare you to roll up to a muscle show in a SS Camaro and a Crysler Neon of any year. Guess which one of you will not be in the show?

The Neon only came with tiny I4 engines in a FWD configuration. For those of us that aren't MOPAR fappers the Neon was an easy to forget shit box.

I own a few Audi 2.7t's known to be most unreliable vehicles next to rotary powered. One of them is daily driven about as hard as a taxi. I enjoy wrenching, I'm a mechanic at a used car lot. What most consider lemons, I find to be an enjoyable weekend with pandora and a 12pack in my garage

Anyway, what I consider unreliable by what stupid crap I mostly have to fix at work, I would have to say dodge/Chrysler and Hyundai's.

    No Saturns? Hmmm

That was actually my MOST reliable vehicle. That thing would always run, took little maint. and body was indestructible.

It's quite surprising since I've owned almost a number of car brands. Honda, Toyota, Ford, Chevy, Nissan, Dodge and Pontiac.
