Remember folks, most people don't buy a Toyota for power or MPG. Toyota has never lead the segment with those things. Toyota's reputation is based on QDR.

Customer suggestions also resulted in us putting a GoPro camera mount inside the windshield. Those were just some of the responses that we got. They told us, "These are the things I've done on my own to improve my truck, or these are the kinds of things we'd like to see, that can only be done at the factory."

Were people actually demanding a GoPro mount? Seems kinda silly since the mounts are fairly easy to install..or perhaps pealing off the protective film off the double sided tape gives a lot of people headaches?

"If there has been an area of concern it was with the front bumper. With the anticipated change coming from NHTSA regarding bumper design, we wanted to be out front instead of reacting to the rule change later on. However, some were concerned it might be more difficult to attach personalized aftermarket bumpers to the new Tacoma."

Lem'me get this straight....they said they listened to their customers....we got a GoPro mount, yet received a frontend that is going to give the homebuilder and the after market a hell of time making bumpers for it. Thank gawd the GoPro mount was installed at the factory...mang those are such a hassle to install. Tell ya....fucking engineers...

If they were going to make it ugly, they could of least given us a straight edge to deal with like Tundra.

yet they did a double wammy, hard to look at, plus a pain in the ass to fab...

What does the Quarterly Defense Review have to do with the Tacoma's reliability? Is it now a weapons platform, because that would be COOL!!

Damn that looks good! What year is that? That one appears smaller to me for some reason.

I've been driving Toyota trucks since 1987. Currently have a 2001 DC V6 4WD Limited I bought new. Been waiting for the sunroof option. My question is, does anyone know what the recommended spark plug life (mileage) is in the new 2016 V6? It's 30,000 miles in my 2001, but it only cost about $100 for a minor tune-up (new plugs) at the Toyota dealer. Once I had the dealer quote me a price that was $300, to which I objected and they checked my history and then said they quoted me the price for the newer model (would have been a 2013 or 2014 at the time). They indicated the newer model used a different, more costly plug (and still only went 30,000 miles). What about the new 2016?

That's true, but what's the recommended interval between spark plug change with the 2016?

No one knows yet, its a new engine for Toyota. Alot of new direct injection type engines have longer intervals for spark plugs, also depends on the plug the engine uses.

The Highlander doesn't require changing plugs until 120000 miles. I can see the Tacoma extending the interval for the 3rd gen Tacoma.

Please don't tell me you'd base your vehicle purchase on a spark plug change interval.

I've got about 170,000 miles on mine now, and the longer I can go between changes the better IMO. 30,000 comes all too quick.

The Lexus cars with the 2GR engine which is pretty similar to the 7GR have 60k change intervals so that would be my guess.

I think the GoPro Camera Mount is a marketing gimmick that Toyota is using and that GoPro is paying Toyota a lot of money to have the "Mount" installed in the Tacoma.

I wonder if the Engineers remembered a power supply... :frusty:

It is a '14...think the bumper makes the big girl appear slimmer. ;)

I highly doubt they included a power supply.

60,000 would be a big improvement. My 2015 Subaru Forester goes 60,000.

It wouldn't surprise me to see 30,000 miles if they use the same spark plugs they've been using for the last 2 generations (20 years). If that's the case - I hope changing them is just as easy is it has been on both generation trucks.

You're worried about the cost to change spark plugs? What about the rest of the maintenance?

You could spend upwards (or over) $40,000 on a new truck - it's not going to be maintenance free. You have to take care of that investment or it won't last and/or won't keep running like a Toyota should.

Im a little late to the party. But, I love the new Tacoma. I have a feeling it will be very good looking in person. I have a 2005 Tundra Access cab and only want more back seat room, 4x4, and an updated interior/exterior. Love my Tundra and I love the new Tundra, but it is just too big. Too big for my garage, too big for parking, and too big for what I need to tow.

The tacoma seems to fit the bill. I am waiting for the 2016. Looks as if the engineers state a bit more shoulder and hip room than the 2015. About to order one so I can get what I want. Any recommendations between the 15 and 16.

    What I like......
    New design
    great interior
    great exterior
updated interior, especially the seats.......the 15 looks like a 1998 Grand am interior
    more hip and shoulder room
only truck with a box that does not need a spray liner
    slow drop tailgate
    new engine

    What I don't like
no cassette player like my 05 tundra kidding of course
