This but don't hit the tie rod or ball joint, hit the spindle. On the side of where they go through.

 

Wait are you just trying to get the tie rod and UCA bolts out? I read you question as trying to actually remove the ball joints from the UCA and the tie rod lol.

Yea just get a mallet and whack the bottom of each (try to hit directly on the bottom and don't burr any threads). Watch out when you remove each as the tie rod removal will cause the spindle to probably twist over from the hub weight and when you whack the UCA bolt, the spindle will sort of violently come out at you...but only about a foot or so

 

Ok got the tie rod off. Upper ball joint just won't let loose tried hitting everything with a mallet and BFH to no avail

 

Just get to the side, hit the bottom of the UCA bolt like...hard...and it should pop out. You could try whacking the side of the spindle around the bolt a little bit to, to try to loosen it a bit.

 

take the nut all the way off, turn it over and put back on flush with the threads then smack that shit like Breezey did Rihanna . . .

 

Got that. Next issue. Can't tighten the tie rod because the tie rod bolt spinds free

 

No idea. Get yourself an impact wrench. I finally said F it and ran to Home Depot and got one...makes a half day install turn into about an hour lol. I had my coilovers on both sides pulled in like 15 minutes last Friday.

I do recall my sway bar links doing the same thing, it turned out the nut was binding a little bit on the bolt. Impact wrench got it past the burr and that was the last I saw of it turning. It takes alot to get those ball joints to spin like that, so the nut is sticking

No worries broseph, on the tie rod, the rod itself, is Hexed, it is 6mm, use an open end wrench and that 6mm allen key and it's back to pullin bitches on the boulevard . . .

 

Mines not hexed & I was thinking Allen key in the center but not the case either.

 

Well shit, my 07 has them, wait he was speaking on the sway bar right?

As only the sway bar tie rods are hexed, the factory UCA + LCA are not . . .

 

His Tie rod. Now my sway bar end links do have an Allen center but not the tie rod.

 

Ok got the driver side spindle on. Still have to swap the brake lines and the driver side will be done. I'll do the passenger side tomorrow. Sorry about all the amateur questions. This is my first major mod I've done besides removing the sway bar so I don't have much experience.

Yea I learned by watching someone else do it, then studying on here for years and then just doing it myself, which was the best learning experience I've had yet

 

I've really only been into trucks for the past 3 or 4 years. I'm 16. So I haven't had very much time to watch others and study the internet. Kinda just jumped into it. I'm very thankful you guys are here to help me out. Another question 1.25" wheel spacers enough for the stock wheels with these spindles? I have spidertrax ordered should be here Saturday.

 

I swear everything was torqued on to 10,000 foot pounds. Nothing will break loose

 

That's the best way to get started, just do it. Everyone here had to start somewhere. No one here knows everything, despite what they might think lol. But together I think we can combine our knowledge to help just about anyone on here with any problems they might have.

I ran spidertrax 1.25" spacers on my front end with these spindles. One thing to be aware of, if you only run them up front, you're pushing your tires out by about 2" over stock, and then if you get wheels with less backspacing, they'll poke out even more.

 

I'd like to purchase what torque wrench you have that can torque to 10,000 lbs

 

1.25" spacers are more than enough
