Who is this Jaque8 guy? He totally knows what he is talking about & is realistic, rare for a forum, more rare for a guy in car sales! I'm in Denver, not sure if San Diego will be too far, but I may be in! Personally, no matter when '16s are out, (my bet is Sept.) I am waiting 6 months or so, then hoping the hype is down somewhat and I will be able to get exactly what I want. Plan on selling my '13 O/R myself, hope the '16s don't kill the resale too much, resale currently is pretty damn good.

Well said. I've been on this site daily for months just hoping someone knows something -- anything. I remember the same thing happened when the FJ Cruiser was released. Lots of hype, a trickle of info. I was the first here in San Diego (it felt like) to get my name on the list and order. First day they dropped off the boat mine was there. Loved it! But WARNING! First run of a new model. Had it for 9 months, 4000 miles, and went through 4 power steering pumps. Went through Lemon Law and Toyota bought it back for everything I paid. Took that check and bought the EXACT same 2007 FJC - same color, same specs and everything, but CHEAPER, and didn't have one issue with it. Sold it a few months ago for almost what I paid for it. Best vehicle I ever owned but terrible for a growing family. Now I want to be the first to buy a new '16 Tacoma.

I,m in the same boat as you. Don,t really want the Limited but the interior seems so much nicer. Don,t think I can live with the chrome side mirrors and door handles. Yuck! My current Tundra is a TRD off-road Limited with no chrome. Best of both worlds. Wish I could get something similar in the Gen 3 Taco

Sounds like we want the same. I'd have to change out the bumpers, side mirrors, door handles and the
    hood - need that scoop!
I think it would be allot easier to just get the seats wrapped in
leather and have everything else we want factory installed.

I'm in the same boat. I didn't even realize that the door handles were chrome...that sucks. How far can you take a custom order? Can you order one without the chrome?I know no one knows about the 16 but how does it work with tbe 15s.?

Good question. I would also like to know if anyone has done this with a previous model.

Think the Tacoma Limited (Chrome yuk) is marketed towards the F150 Platinum crowd. If F150 give me the FX4 or Rapter, if Tacoma, the TRD O/R.

Sounds like you guys just need to get the Sport and put leather in it instead of replacing and painting all the chrome parts. The features inside the limited pretty much matched the TRD Off Road (Sport should be equivalent) interior, except for the leather. "Must have scoop!" There's your answer, or my plan at least.

What still confuses me is the all chrome grille on the Sport (which is supposed to eliminate chrome) and the non-chrome grille on the limited (which is supposed to be the chrome package).

Called multiple dealers in Iowa. Some not reporting with any preorder dates and most saying we need to wait till september. Not the words I want to hear. Not sure what to believe. Talked to Kokomo Indiana dealer and he was ready to take a deposit RIGHT NOW. Not sure I can get myself to take an 8 hour trip. Especially with prices still up in the air

I will most likely purchase a new Tacoma at the end of 2016 or early 2017. I will wait till the dealers have multiple trucks sitting on their lot. Rarely have I ordered a vehicle. I have been able to find what I want on the lot after the vehicle has been out awhile.
Also want to see what, if any, issues the 2016 will have early on. The Chevy Colorado seemed to have some issues in its early production.

Yeah, me too. I love the idea of keyless start, but hate the typical stupid button implementation. Give me a mechanical rotary switch, or I'll just stick to a regular key. Thanks.

Chevy colorado and Silverados tend to have many issues. It's one reason I am steering clear of them. I seriously considered one even with the ugly dash layout. Consumer reports just rated newer Silverados to be 70% below average reliabilty. That's just stupid

No reason it won't. My friend had a 2010 Corvette with smart key and I think the Lexus manuals all have them.
I did not want the smart key when we bought a 2015 Rav but no way around it on the packages my wife wanted.
I am actually starting to like it. Lots of cool features besides the push button start.

Makes sense since you put your foot on the brake and push start with an auto.

Just curious, has anyone been required to place a deposit yet to hold their place in line, even though no order details have been released?
