Howdy Tennessee! I'll be moving down there in July and wanted to say hello and what not. My job is going to be in Winchester, an hour or so west of Chattanooga. Anyone spend much time in that area? I'd like to think I'll just commute from somewhere near Lookout Mountain, but that's a hell of a lot of driving to do. Anyhow, damn glad to be getting back south. Grew up in GA, went to school and worked in NC for 15 years, came up north for a job and found out real quick it doesn't suit me.

Does anyone have DirectTV? there is a 6 episode series called "The Fighting Season" and its the exact same place during the exact same time we were there (afghanland) and want to see it but I dont have DTV. Im not opposed to borrowing someones username/password to stream the 6 episodes. . . im just staying

 

Skooter I was thinking about hitting up turkey bay tomorrow too, you interested in driving trails together? I'll probably be there early morning, got an annual pass so I'll skip the visitor center.

 

I think Ill take ya up on that. Im not sure exactly when ill arrive, this week has been a headache so I was looking forward to "sleeping in" haha. when were you looking at going? (ill be buying an annual pass too since I plan on going atleast 3 times so itll pay for itself after that)

 

How do full size trucks do on these trails everyone goes to? Saw that a Raptor joined you at LBL.

FYI. There is a Tundra Pro at Chuck Hutton Toyota. Inferno is a sweet color but the wheel/tire combo they had looked too small to me. Nice truck but $46k puts that model beyond me.

 

Pretty good. There are trails where it's sketchy to someone whos not used to riding tight trails but in general it's not a problem at all. In tight spots you just have to trust that you know your truck and are comfortable with the possibility of the "oh shit" moment happening. Confidence really helps. I remember when I was down at the bottoms and fucked up my bedside that the trail we took was so tight and so sketchy that it was probably 1 mile long and it took a group of 6 trucks about 2 hours to ride (group included a built buggies, a jeep, an old Toyota and 2 full size old chevys). The whole trail felt like an oh shit moment and there was one specific spot, where I hit this tree, that I was in a bad spot for probably 30' before that happened and Sarah was stressin out and she looked at me and said "how are you so calm?" And I said "Because I have to be." I knew what I was doing when I decided to go down there and I was mentally prepared for the moment. My point is I can tell you that it's gonna be a cake walk with 30' on either side or that it's super tight and you will touch your mirrors simultaneously on trees (this happened at lbl last year) and you decide whether you feel confident in your driving ability to keep from destroying your truck. Haha


Short answer ......... Full size trucks aren't ideal but should be fine.
