Hey everyone - Just wanted to introduce myself and my new truck, and give a little background...

My name is Aaron, I live in Lakewood, Colorado, and I'm 30 years young. I just purchased a brand new 2015 Magnetic Gray Metallic Double-Cab Short Bed V6 4x4 less than a month ago. Bought her from the dealership with 9 miles on the odometer. It is my first new vehicle!

I had previously owned a 2003 Black Jeep Liberty Renegade 3.7L V6 4x4 for the past 7 years, and before that had a 1997 Teal 4-banger 5-speed 2wd Ford Ranger single cab. I loved my Ranger and had her for 8 years, only repair was an alternator. I had that truck slammed 4" up front and 6" in the rear, with a bunch of other mods.

The Jeep, however, was very much a love-hate relationship. While not a real Jeep, that thing got me through anything I threw at it, and never busted. BUT, a lot of small repairs and something would go wrong every few months. Never modded the Jeep much because after a few months I found myself putting money into fixing it all the time. So last month I was leaving work and started the Jeep, and heard the death rattle of a knocking rod. Drove 15 miles home as easy as I could, took off work the next day and took her into the shop only to have my fear confirmed. The Black Pearl had perished. There was no way I was dumping 4-5k into that POS with 170k on the dash.

So, decided to pull the trigger on the Tacoma. I had been dreaming about owning one for the past 3 years, and NOW I HAVE ONE! Our one-month anniversary is this Sunday on the 24th. The excitement is still just as strong as the day I drove her home! Looking forward to being part of TacomaWorld and meeting all the awesome people that are here to help.

    Cheers!
    -Aaron

Congrats! Hopefully you don't mind dumping more money into the taco, for mods though. Welcome.

I would love to, but I can't figure out how to post a pic from my desktop.. Currently searching to find that answer!

I did not, horrible actually... only $500  Tried to call a couple junker places but only got $200-300 offers. The tires alone were worth $800! I got screwed pretty bad with the trade-in, but got the truck for a steal and just wanted piece of mind.

Thanks @a.smo! I guess I figured it to be more difficult - didn't even see that button.
@nv529 Nahhh! I'll gladly put money into something that should last me a lifetime.. I plan on driving this truck for the next 15 years at least!

First pic is the day after purchase and the other two are before and after a little derpin... Had to hide the base-model wheels till I can put some real ones on

Welcome. My brother had a ranger too. 1998 5 speed 2wd. Only repair needed was an alternator too. It was rolled over on its side and the front window had to be sawed into to get the people out. Bought as non running with 28k miles. Pulled the spark plugs, cranked it and oil shot out. Put them back in and it did another 100k+. That Ranger has been through alot and is still running somewhere I'm sure.

Congrats on your truck. I like the base models.
