buy a few gallon jugs of apple cider from the store and add yeast, how sweet it ends up is dependent on the amount of yeast that you use and how much sugar is in the cider.

I personally think you will like the Black Butte Porter and the Old Rasputin.Great suggestions by DriftDreamzSS!The North Coast Old Rasputin is a imperial stout and one of my favorites!Deschutes also has the Obsidian stout which is just as good as the Black Butte porter.I would also suggest the AleSmith Speedway Stout. Also a favorite of mine and comes in a wine style bottle.Firestone Walker has the Velvit Merlin and Velvit Merkin porters. There are so many good ones but these are a few for you to get a start on!

Merkin is probably the best choice for someone new to the style to see what bourbon barrels can do to a beer. Fairly low on alcohol content and smooth balanced flavors with the perfect touch of barrel magic that FW does so well! A bit pricy at $16 each but worth it at least once. Oh and I think Merlin and Merkin are labeled Oatmeal stouts not Porters but the styles are so close it doesnt really matter.

I got my list I see what I can find.

    North Coast Old Rasputin
    Black Butte Porter
    Obsidian stout
    Ale Smith Speedway Stout
    Firestone Walker Velvit Merlin Porter
    Firestone Walker Velvit Merkin porter

These shouldn't be mixed right? and by mixed I mean drink a North Coast Old Rasputin then drink a Obsidian stout.

I've done on to many occasions to remember but would personally stick to one so you get that individual flavor!

If you do drink a few beers in one sitting try to start mildest first. For example if you drink something strong, high abv and roasted coffee flavor and follow it with something low abv and mild cocoa flavor the 2nd beer will pretty much be flavorless due to your palate adjusting to the bold flavors of the strong first beer. Of course the downside to that is drinking a strong beer at the end can get you pretty drunk depending on your tolerance so just dont over do it haha.

If you can find Ten Fiddy by Oskar Blues, I highly recommend it. It's an imperial stout and It comes in a can

Agreed, its about as good as it gets for a non barrel aged imperial stout without adjunct flavors but Id probably consider it on the "heavy" side for newer stout drinkers.
