What's the vacation destination this year?
Sorry your back's been acting up - is this a new issue or ongoing?

Used camera gear - it all depends on where it comes from. Both of my lenses are used and were purchased from a local shop that deals in a lot of trades and consignments. They fully test and inspect everything before reselling it and I trust them. Not had an issue yet! *knocks on wood*
I have not dealt with them specifically but they have a good rep - B & H Photo - they have follks that travel around the country and host trade in events where people can bring in their old gear and get paid on the spot. B & H then takes all of that gear and, depending on the item and condition, will either clean it, inspect it and resell it or use it for parts for other items that will then get rebuilt and resold.

    That looks amazing!!

That didn't answer anything... ;) Just kidding :D it answered everything I think. Thanks :D

This is what it came with for a rear cap... Not threaded, just presses on there. I don't think they will last too long.

The caps are Nikon F mounts and they lens are 52mm. It came with front caps at least. When are you headed to the camera store again?

So I am focusing on that roof back behind the dish there.

Samsung Point and Shoot on 1x (3.9mm)

    18mm

    55-200 at 55mm
    [IMG]4 by bradytovey, on Flickr

    200mm
    [IMG]5 by bradytovey, on Flickr

Point and shoot at 15x (58.5mm)
    [IMG]6 by bradytovey, on Flickr

So the point and shoot can zoom out and in further than these two lenses. haha The DSLR has twice the MP though.

In the last 2 pics, the dish is fuzzy with the DSLR but everything is clear in the Samsung. Is there something I am doing wrong, or is that a limitation of a DSLR lens being at full zoom?

Thanks Lisa I will try to find a local camera shop. I have bought from B&H Photo with terrific results. I believe that is where I picked up my Nikon D60. Not a bad DSLR for the price. The only thing it does not have is the ability to support off mount flash.

    nice weather for riding

Yup, cutting them as I go. One just has a few roots holding it in place. Not going to cut them until I've got them all done. Then will tie it to the truck so I can cut the roots and the stump won't fall to the bottom of the hole. Then will drag them out. No 4 wheel drive here... a friend has a 4 wheel drive 1st gen tundy and the stumps laughed at him. No way to have any tires on pavement.

Hope the shots work soon. :pout:

 that's a lot of reading... get busy :D

Happy to hear you are feeling better.

Know anybody with a diesel? The extra weight should help pull it out without tearing up the lawn as easy.

I've been skimming over the intro pointless stuff... and highlighting and marking the important stuff with stickies to save Candice the trouble of reading the pointless stuff...

not worried about tearing up the lawn, since I'm gonna do it when the stumps are out. Have to level / smooth out the yard. Between the other trucks that took down the other trees, the dogs chasing moles and the moles, the yard is a hazard to walk in...

Probably has more to do with the focal point settings in the cameras. the P & S has a general, multi point auto focus that will select several points on a grid to bring into focus, the DSLR has multiple settings to choose from - spot, zone, etc. - so you can get one particular point in the image in focus or get several points in focus depending on what you choose. Not sure which options your particular model has...
find a good trustworthy shop and take the plunge. i don't think i'd buy a secondhand lens from ebay or cl without knowing the background. my local shop is awesome and i've saved about 1/3 off of the original prices on my lenses. can't beat that....gotta look at camera gear like cars. people trade stuff out all of the time for newer, better models. you just gotta find the one that was kept in a garage and faithfully maintained.

me too. they're pricy and no guarantee of a cure. i told my doc that all i wanted was to make my allergies less, i wasn't expecting a cure. trying to be realistic here but i would hope to see some improvement by now. *sniffle*
have fun with your stumps....maybe you could tie the girls' leashes to the stumps and then yell "squirrel!" maybe they'd take off running and take the stumps out with them :notsure:

It's going. Staying home until I know how badly I'm reacting to my shots than going camping. Maybe tomorrow.
What are you up to? Anything fun this weekend?
