What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Looks good, and welcome to the club lol! I've had my premium for about 3 years now and it's been great!

 

Do the 5125s really make the ride better? Going over speed bumps in the rear with any sort of speed is a real killer.

 

They do if you have a lift above 2.25in, I had 4.25-4.5 which is literally the 5100s max extended amount. The 11" 5125s fixed my issue, I probably could have gotten away with 10" 5125s, but I was right in between measurements for either one so I went more droop less up travel.

 

I had my stuff installed at my local off road shop. I had asked how the brake lines looked, and if they recommened extended brake lines. They had said no to that, I know most everyone on here has extended brake lines, but just wanted to see what you guys had to say?

 

Currently I don't have front extended brake lines, I do have rear, but when I upgrade my brakes I'm getting SS brake lines. I'd get the rear for sure tho

 

Rcd5100s cs 5125s are different slightly. They do differ in valving though.

Unless your long travel up front. You don't need front ones.

Depending on how much lift you have the rear could be needed.

Overall. New steel lines will make the brakes harder and more responsive.

I also had an OEM bedliner for about five years before I had the LineX done. The bed was still very clean but there were some paint rubs. I would just make sure that you have the LineX put in the same day that you take the drop-in out. That way the rubs don't have time to oxidize.

 

Do you have a pic? I'm thinking of doing the same but I was hoping I could still carry the spare in the same place.

Spindle lift on a first gen?? What brand is it? I wasn't aware of any for a first gen unless you were a prerunner and had uniballs on uca and lca?

 

Selling these if anyone interested. Made for another member then he sold his truck. They are brand new and never used. The cutoff picture is just one of the projectors lit

 

I lifted my rig only about 1.5" and installed an extended rear brake line. The stock line was stretched fairly tight when I was installing the lift. Now, no worries about popping that rear OEM rubber line.

 

What headlight shroud is that? Been eating to retrofit but not sure what would look good in the 98-00 headlight style.

Cut some rust out of my bed a couple weeks ago and finally got it welded and sprayed...










Considering getting the bed Rhinolined, either that or just wire brushing and spraying and surface rust that's left.

Any advice on the Rhino lining front?

I want to do the exact same thing with my grille (I have a 1978 yota emblem for the center). Did you cut the insides and fiberglass it (w/body filler) to cover the holes?
