    This. Powder is great for things that you're not likely going to need to touch up in the future. I suspect that at some point in the future the sliders are going to make impact with something hard enough to take a chunk out of the surface. I'm even second thinking the use of bedliner and may just go primer to satin black and add some black tread pads if I want some more grip for a step.

    Anyone in N. Dallas/Plano/Allen/McKinney/near any of those with access to a welder. Need a real quick 3" weld on one edge of a slider that was missed during fabrication. You can see the gap in the photo above on the top slider, far left.

    I've got some JBWeld, at worst I'll run a bead to seal the gap, but if I can get someone local to lay down the real thing, that would be option A. I can make it worth the person's time, but not a full set of sliders kind of price. ;)

    Was down there just over a month ago, end of my Hill Country trip. Ended up at an urgent care place in Marble Falls due to a massive allergic rash on my leg from an adhesive used on a knee tape job I had done before I left. Trip was real nice till that happened.

    I drive through Marble Falls all the time. Only wheeled Hidden Falls once though. Been meaning to get back out there. Unfortunately, I'm probably not gonna wheel anymore until after the SAS.

    Cuda, did you build those rock sliders? If not, which vendor are they from? They also have a significant (or maybe insignificant) design flaw :(

    No, but I've built enough roll cages and have done enough welding do know gussets on the flat side of square tube is wrong always.

    Well crap! You better contact Allpro, BAMF, Relentless, SOS, and Trail Gear because they are all doing it wrong.

    You need to take into account other things such as type of loading, design factor, and stress concentrations. For example, if the square tube can handle the stress cause by a load at the end of the slider but the frame plate experiences a higher stress caused by the moment of the square tube then putting a gusset on the top flat part of the square tube is perfectly acceptable. This would help reduce the stresses in the frame plate and would have a minimal affect on the square tube, which is already over designed.
