I ran into the same problem. Sansom park has okay trails, but Hill Country towards Austin is way better

My friends and I decided not to go tomorrow. Too much crappy weather on the way and I don't want to be miserable all day

Great, other than the fact that it sucks the rubber hose closed when around 4k rpm. I keep the deckplate open when not off road, so it isn't a huge deal right now. I plan to modify the original hard plastic tube to replace the rubber hose it has now.

I did a full throttle test with the deckplate closed to make sure It would still perform well. Glad I did too, because I found an issue with it. No, I decided not to mess with the gap. It really isn't that bad.

Gotcha. That gap seems like a point of weakness if you ever do water crossings though

Why? All it will do is let water inside the fender, and then it drains out the bottom.

Ah didn't know there was a drain.thought it would get into the air tube. BUT if your in the water up to your hood for a period of time I would think it would make its way in

Air tube is sealed up like Fort Knox. The gap is just where the plastic isn't molded to the fender perfectly. Hopefully I won't be in water up to my hood. I've got big problems if I'm doing that
