    I have the 16" Alloy upgrades and am looking to buy tires..i really want to go bigger than the 265 bfg's because i just got the toytec 3" lift..has anyone put 285 75r16 on the OEM 16" upgraded wheel? does the middle track of the tire wear quickly?

    3" Tough Country Lift, 285/75/R16 General Grabber At2 on SSC Performance Chrome Wheels and a Dual Exhaust
    I have 285/75R16 and the middle of my tread is wearing quicker than the outside. I also run 35psi in them, so that might have a little to do with it. I run 35 because of gas mileage. Its not so bad that i wish i wouldn't have bought them. My tires are rated for 60,000 miles and will prolly get 50,000 out of them.

    With 285/75/16 on the stock wheel, you will rub your UCA's when turning. :)

    And that was an easy run. Imagine what it would do to them on a more difficult run.

    Hey Willy, you really need to find an aftermarket rim with 4.5 inch backspacing like my Ivan Stewarts. I ran the 265s with no problem on my stock TRD off roads but I would have never tried that with 285s. If you are looking for an affordable rim go to Discount Tire and look for the Gunner 6s MB racing. I sold mine to another member. They looked nice. Heres a pic.

    I never keep more than 15 psi. in my tires when wheeling. 5 psi for sand. Didnt look like ground clearance was a problem on the trail you ran. I'll sacrifice 1" for better traction.

    WIth an upgraded UCA ( like Total Chaos, Icon, Camburg) you wont rub. With the FACTORY UCA's and the FACTORY wheels and 285/whatever/whatever's (33's) you will rub the UCA's, and more than likely to the point of being unsafe.

    Here you go Jumpmaster! When I called up I was looking for Toku's discontinued Rockers and they sold me on these by giving me the fourth for free. I talked to a guy named Zach about a year and a half ago. I think they had 4.25 inch backspacing. Good luck!
