Decision made. No UCAs for me (yet). I'll be ordering my ARB compressor when I get home from work. Thanks DoorDing!!!! I would've been pissed If I spent $500 and lost the little clearance I have. I'll reconsider after sliders, when I can remove mudflaps and trim the wheel well.

    Crises averted....

I ordered my JBA's on Wednesday, so hopefully i'll have them early next week and get them on. I'm also interested in the rub angle, I have already removed my mudflaps because of it. whats odd is i'm still getting some rub on the back side of my right LCA.... will go for a re-alignment as soon as I have the new UCS's on

I guess I don't fully comprehend caster. I thought adding caster moved the wheel forward in the wheel well. I need to do some more research.

I'm in the same boat!!! Wouldn't adding caster (moving the wheels forward) end up technically giving you more clearance from the rear of the wheel well??? By the cab mount? And, wouldn't adding an aftermarket set of ucas jba,tc,LR etc. Make it easier to align a lifted truck....maybe I'm just confused after reading some of the last posts.

adding caster pulls wheel back.... think shopping cart. why does a shopping cart go straight? the wheel is behind the axis. more caster moves wheel back from axle, tracks better

That's a good video. So....with regards to some of the posts above.....adding these or any of the other ucas, would you want some negative caster added? So that you can keep it at oem specs and not have clearence issues in the back of the front wheel well???

Thanks for the post Oz. Makes sense, but hadn't thought of it that way.

Since the truck drives fine and I'm not really in need of extra articulation for my current needs... I'm out.

This has been educational and I greatly appreciate everyone sharing their knowledge. On to other mods.

No. Its the reverse, you want a little positive castor. I like 2.4 degrees for my truck, works great!

So adding a set of these to my Baja, which is a 1.75 to 2 inch lift, I'd want to recommend to the alignment shop to set it at around 2.0 to 2.4 positive castor???

I apologize if this seems redundant or just a stupid question....this alignment stuf just seems to confuse the hell out of me

In the future I wanted to get into a little off-roading. Nothing too crazy but off-roading non the less. I figured adding a beefier set of UCA's would be beneficial.

Pulled the trigger on the JBA's. Most of my driving is at freeway speeds. Since my lift, it's often a two-hander (steering wheel grip) during strong cross winds or when the truck decides the grooves in the interstate are more important than going straight. I'm armored up, adding a lot of weight up front (yeah, I've had two alignments making sure that's not the issue (local off road specialist and dealer)). I will add Fox 2.5's and JBA's arms and let you know how they work.

ARB bumper/lockers, OME 3" Lift, custom rack, looking for 05+ Tacoma soon
I have a 2003 Jeep Liberty that has 3.5" lift with 245/75 Duratrak with a lot of weight added as well ARB and winch. I have his UCAs that he made for the Liberty (Gen 4.5) and I have to say they are amazing. People do not even realize that they are in a lifted vehicle (until winds gets you) when doing daily driving. But they are great off road too, no spring rub, alignment issues gone and they offer a good sense of security as well. I just changed my moogs after 4 years.

Now I am looking at getting a 08 Tacoma and I am going to go this route right away. Marlin is also great to deal with, if you guys request him to get hard to obtain items for Tacomas, he might go out of his way to really get them. He got us Liberty guys a heck of a lot of options.

And this was my first post, hope to learn a lot on here before I get my Tacoma!

Just to show how they held up in Chicago salt flooded roads for 4 years.

So...dumb question...if purchasing these, do you need to buy the ball joints and bushings as well?
