How strong are bull bars

Are Grill Guards more stronger then bull bars.

 

Here's your answer to whether or not, a bull bar can stand up to a deer. And I don't like the bull bars that much, but to each his own.

I don't think I would make any mods to my truck thinking I might hit a deer. Maybe get those deer whistles for your front bumper and save your bull bar money for somethin you're really psyched about. I wanted a bull bar, but I think I will just put the $$ towards a plate bumper instead.

What are you talking about!?...my wheels are wider than stock acomodating my 305/65/R17 Pro Comp Xtreme AT tires. Notice they are 17"....which is required for the lift kit I am running. The lens covers protect my lights from premature hazing and or brush damage. The grill allows for better airflow to maximize cooling...looking badass is just a bonus. Im wrong, you're right!- I guess $300 bones to mount some lights to some taiwan chrome aint bad. Like you said- to each his own-HA!

 

The bull bar you are referring to is actually a nudge bar.

A bull bar in my mind is something that replaces the entire stock bumper, like allpro shrockworks, or an arb like mine.

 

I was considering a bull bar for one reason, to protect the radiator from a deer hit. I've never hit a deer but have come damn close to it. I know if I hit one going 70 MPH my front clip is going to be toast. I was just hoping a bull bar would help protect the radiator from being taken out. I know the bumper and grill would be smashed by the bull bar from impact but would the bar keep the deer from going into the radiator? I cannot understand how it could not help.

so your saying your bumper is now a bar, the bullbar in my terms looks like it fits the name, yours looks like a bullbumper. why would some people buy arb or allpro bumpers when they dont even offroad, it would be a waste of money, and extra weight added to the truck, thats why i kept my bullbar

 

i hit a mustang with mine and it crushed it and the bumper and grille and i had to replace everything i tried to pull on it once and tore it all to pieces i am putting a all pro bumper on it now maybe it will hold up better

 

Like the old saying goes... to each their own. I actually use my "nudge bar" when I work on the farm. Not for just cows but gates too lol. I guess you could say I'm using mine for its intended purpose, but I also just happen to like the way they look. And the lights mounted on there put off some good light when I'm headed down the logging road to deer camp.
