That's not even close to being an idiot .... !!
Years ago my friend and I built a bumper for my truck ... We built it on the truck , measure , cut , level , weld everything up . Not an easy job.
When all done we stepped back to admire our work .... Derp !!
The truck wasn't on level ground , so the whole thing was crooked as shit!
Now that's idiot in action !!
I admire you taking the initiative to do this job , and cleverness to get out of it !
Hope your husband makes it home safe and soon ! :)

I must be missing something. Did you dump 57 of 60 bags out of the back of your truck? Because that would mean you had 2400 lbs of mulch in your Tacoma.

    Indeed.

Then there's the times I've left a tool or cup of coffee on the tailgate or step bumper...driven across town, got out and Hole-Lee-Crap...there it sits.

Lol, I wouldn't look at it that way... I dumped a whole chord of wood out the back of mine once pretty much the same way. It happens to the best of us!! Good job on not dwelling on the issue and figuring out a solution.

Thank you for YOUR service!! It is no easy task being a military wife. I am so proud of my wife who has been a CG Wife for 24 years now. I don't know of anyone who is stronger emotionally and mentally.

    I hate when that happens!

She should just try it! I didn't like it at first but I like to be dressed pretty, I like being treated special, and I it when I get what I want. What's not to like :)

Sorry Mr Polymerhead. The whole job was going to be 60 bags, I only had 20 bags in the truck. I really was very concerned though. I had a lot of trouble pulling the first 3 off the truck and carrying them just a couple of steps to the tree.

My hubbie has this really big and scary looking knife and he would cut the bags open. My job was to just help dump the stuff out. All I would have to do is kinda roll the bag over and all the mulch would come out.

It actually all worked out. This really nice guy who works for the landlord came over early this evening and put the 17 bags I dumped right where I needed them. He also helped me empty them into the right places. It only took him about a half of an hour. I'm going to pay him $100 and he's going to come back tomorrow and help me with the rest of the bags. I'm very happy! :):)

Hey! How did you do that? I went back and edited all the little faces away when a couple of people didn't seem to like it much. I thought it was creative and cute .

You accidently discovered what I called the hill billy dump bed!

One day we had an F250 with an 8 foot bed loaded to the bills with crib, so much that the truck was riding on the bump stops. My buddy with me was dreading having to hand chuck all those as they were loaded with a fork lift. I said don't you worry. I got out, removed the tail gate, pulled up about 10 feet from where they were to be dropped. Stepped on the gas, went back 7 or 8 feet and slammed on the brakes. Boom all the crib block was unloaded.

Hill billy dump bed! Good for unloading stuff you don't care about.

Hi DoubleRGirl! I think you're the first female I've met here. Thanks, I did have a good cry and got over feeling sorry for myself. Then I did what I always have to do and cleaned up the mess I made. It sure is a lot nicer having a big strong shoulder to cry on though.

That's okay. That is what they make Apothic Dark for :).

Your silly Mr toomanytoys84! I might not have cared about the bags of mulch but I sure did care when I thought I was going to have to drag all that stuff up the hill :annoyed:.

Thank you very much for your service Mr 2012 SilverSport and for Mrs 2012 SilverSport's sacrifices. It isn't easy but I couldn't be more proud. I'm not sure I could do this for 24 year though! I know I've grown up a lot and I do think I maybe have even gotten stronger. I'm pretty much still an emotional mess but I am getting better! :)

    Yea, don't sweat it.
I had a straight shaft weedwacker fly out the back of my truck once.
By the time I turned around to get it, it was already run over. It's now a curved shaft model and works better .

Check out this legendary thread. It's the "oil change heard 'round the world".

The OP in the link is a good guy, long time TW member.... and he can take a punch like a man. Enjoy this read and ask yourself if you still feel like an idiot. :D

A long time ago I was in the Home Depot parking lot loading up the back of my truck with landscape supplies on a hot summer day, when my wallet fell out of the front pocket of my basketball shorts. Wasn't the first time it had fallen out of my pocket that day - the pockets were just too shallow and it seemed every time I bent over for anything my wallet or keys fell out. Rather than put it back in my pocket or put it in the cab of the truck, I set the wallet on the rear bumper while I finsihed unloading.

Later when i got home and was unloading the truck, guess what is still sitting on the rear bumper? I was lucky and didn't lose my wallet, but I still felt like an idiot. We've all done something like this one time or another.
