This is prob excess but I already have a 30" light bar and I'm thinking about adding a 50" and maybe 4-6 light pods... Will I need to do any battery upgrades or anything like that?

Can I ask why you want a 50"? I'm not gonna say you don't need it or don't want it etc. but I will tell you from real world experience. I have a 50" curved very nice light bar. And guess what, When it's turned on I can't see shit. It glares so bad on the hood it's just not worth the hassle. No Gideon and Kurt had a good idea to mount a fin type item underneath it to keep it away from the hood but it's something to think about. Levi's wasn't as bad as mine but still pretty bad and I didn't get to ride in everetts truck. So I don't know how bad his was.

Like I said I'm not saying don't do it. But if I had to do it again knowing now what I know. I would have bought a nicer 20" for my bumper. But I won't complain about 12.00 bar it lights up a lot.

Now outside the truck the 50" cannot be beat. If you're not in your truck and turn it on holy shit you'll see for miles.

Those lights should be fine off your stock battery. I would put bigger grounds on things though. Mainly battery, starter and alternator ground

I have spots, I think Gideon has spots, I have floods on my bumper.

I chose spots so they wouldn't wash out mostly on the hood

Solid info, I wasn't really thinking about a 50" until I saw a deal for 50" bar with 6 free pods.. Seemed pretty good. I also use my 30" way more than I expected.. I'm on back roads and trails at night all the time and it's great. So I figured more lights couldn't hurt.. But if the 50 really will cause that much glare it might not be worth it

Hey Guys, I recently purchased a 95 Tacoma V6 auto SR5 4x4 access cab in cobalt blue pearl. aka Blurple. It currently has 158k miles. It runs very well and only needs a muffler at the moment. I'd like to have it inspected by a mechanic and stay on top of preventative maintenance. Im looking for a mechanic recommendation from the West TN guys since I'm in the Jackson area. Does anyone besides the dealership specialize in Toyotas? Especially these old first gen's? I can do basic maintenance and changed the starter on it with the help of a friend I but need a little help assessing front end components. I read the first gen thread of "frankenstein" and saw what happened to his truck when the ball joint broke and his front tire ripped off. I don't want that to happen to my truck!
