Strange, the welds looked fine on the set I have on my truck.

I painted them myself with a spray paint, I had a hard time getting the AP logo painted well.

They seem pretty damn strong though. I Don't really get in the rocks, but I'll be using them with a hi-lift.

I like the way they come with countersunk hardware for the bottom.

The best slider I ever had was at a Chili's. I was pretty drunk though.

I believe it's an isolated incident. We don't get this type of feedback on our sliders often, if ever. We are happy to replace them or refund your money. I'm very sorry you are unhappy with the quality of your product. That's not what we want for our customers. We do appreciate your feedback so we can get it addressed.

3 inch lift with Toytec Boss and All Pro UCA's up front. AP expedition leafs with Bilstien 5100 shocks in the back. 255/85/16 Cooper S/T Max tires. All Pro skids, rear bumper and sliders, Hidden winch mount with XRC 8000 winch. Dual Optima batteries with IBS combiner/isolator and solar. CMC. Auto sliding rear window mod, hidden CB, CVJ axles and plenty of other little mods.
Here's some pics of my AP's. You do have to drill a couple holes, but no bit deal. They angle up, so they really don't cost you any clearance.

    Also looking at sliders.

I like the SOS bolt on design details, I like the look of the 4X Innovations sliders (which look a lot more expensive when you factor in shipping). The BAMF look really good as well.

These look great, thanks for posting. Do you have any pics straight on from the side that show how close they are to the bottom of the rocker panel? Do you have the ones with or without the kickout?

Nice! Good thing you had them. Although for this thread, direct impact along the horizontal plane doesn't give just comparison between one brand or another.

Meh. Not really. You are comparing the buckle strength of the tube from direct impact to the zippering of the weld at bending it. To compare quality, take the outside edge and torque it and see how the welds do. Jam a dowel rod in a rock and step on it, or ram it point first into a wall. Going to break first with torsion. Not comparing sliders, as I really don't care. They are a nice slider. Just saying, not a good pass/fail criteria. Glad your taco survived minimal damage though!!

I'd say the fact that all welds held and the truck received minimum damage from a side impact does indeed show quality. I understand that functioning as a crash bar is different than being levered as a slider, but the item in question still protected the truck as armor should. I'm sure he posted in order to back up AP who is being bashed by a member who had an inferior slider slip through QC. Especially with the bashing continuing while AP is trying to reach out to that member and make things right.

@allpro is still on my short list for slider mfgs when I purchase.
