GM wont start discounting until there is a drop in demand and left over units, I have a feeling that wont be for awhile. I would expect a 1-3k price increase on the new trucks, the price increase was 1-2k from 1st to 2nd gen. I would expect a loaded limited to fetch $39k (similar to pro), that still keeps it just below/at entry level tundra pricing. Toyota will sell every one of them.

After thought indeed. Like someone bought a cheap aftermarket pair with the intent to paint, but never got around to it.

What potato camera was this guy using? I have an Irish cousin who'd like one....

But seriously, very cool they are bringing it to events! I'm surprised he didn't take more engine shots or shots of the interior. I'm curious where the 2016 will show up next. Hopefully near me!

I'm interested in the 2016 TRD off road, but I'm still not crazy about the black fender flares. Maybe if i stare at it long enough, it will grow on me.

I agree about the black fender flares. so it seems like the off road package will have black fender flares and the sport model will be painted. that has been my observation with the photos released

It's growing on me more and more. Still not a fan of the grill too much, but I'm sure that can be fixed with some paint or dip. I'd take one if I could afford it.

I refuse to buy a vehicle that you don't need to use a key to start it.

You know that the key still has to be present right? It's not just jump in and hit the button....

Personally not of a fan of the bumper above^^^ Looks too much like a car. I did do a shop that retained the entire grille, just moved it up and shortened it and I thought it looked nice.

As for the push button start...yes you still need the key fob. You have to be in the vehicle with the fob to start it and in a certain radius (which isn't much) to be able to lock/unlock and such.

Genuinely curious, have you ever had or used a vehicle with the smart key/ push to start? Its weird at first but is so convenient. Its great never having to take the key out of your pocket.

What if the battery dies in your "smart key", I like the idea of push button start, just curious.

At first I thought it was a big change but looking at the profile views it doesn't look much different than the 2nd gen. Slap a new grill and tailgate on and the body is nearly the same. Hopefully the engine and transmission upgrades are good.

the fob battery basically only effects unlocking the vehicle.

If the battery in the Smart Key dies, is there an alternate way to enter the vehicle and start the engine?
There is a mechanical key within the Smart Key that will open the driver's door. Once you enter the vehicle, hold the Smart Key next to the START button and depress. This will most likely allow the engine to start. If the engine doesn't start and the power door locks are inoperable, the concern may be a weak engine battery and not a weak Smart Key battery.

The inside looks like an Fj. I am still not impressed or excited in any way. The only thing i like is the push button start so far.

I drove "push button" start vehicles for days and, while I like the concept, I hate the implementation - a better implementation would be a rotary key-like switch instead of the stupid button: key-like operation without the hassle of the actual key. But "push button start" sounded better to marketing.

    nothing cool
Saw this picture and thought "I actually really like the look of the new 2016". Then saw that you photo shopped it. Nice work on the PS. Bad work on Toyota's actual grille. I honestly like everything about the new truck except for the grille. my 2011 doesn't even had 30k miles yet so I don't need a new truck. But in 5-6 years I'll for sure consider it.

I love the black fenders. No need to color match them if they need replaced. Cheap to replace if you rough them up off-road. If you don't go off-road, the Sport seems like a better choice.

Had that happen in a 2006 Prius - starter battery died (separate from hybrid system). Stupid thing locked me IN the car when the security system freaked out. Fortunately we were at Sam's and the Tire/Battery people gave us a jump. They fixed that by our 2013.
