That's not terrible...do you have any tickets or do you have a clean driving record?

I've got one ticket but I'm hoping the safety course I took after and the fact that my bike will only be a 300cc will keep it reasonable. Going to probably talk to my parents to help me out with payments, then pay them back as soon as I get hired after I finish up school next year.

Its a 2015 that rolled out of the showroom with 0.7miles. I put full coverage on it.

Clean record. I only pay slightly more for my truck per year.

Bed creaking is still driving me nuts. I checked all bed bolts and they are still tight, so it's not that. It creaks when I'm going around turns and stuff, but when trying to narrow it down, it creaks when I pull down on the rear bumper so that the leaf springs are moving, and also if I stand on the bed in certain areas, it creaks like a mofo and it even feels like the bed has weak spots where it gives under my weight.

I don't see any cracks and there's not really anything I could have done to make it crack so I'm leaning towards the leaf springs or the bed mounts at the frame. Problem is, nothing I do on the leaf springs makes it better. I've tried using a degreaser on them to see if the fluid film was making it creak and even put more grease on the bushings and leafs but nothing helps.
    :annoyed:

Did you spread the leafs apart and grease the friction pads? Thats all i have to do to my stock leafs to make them silent once a year.

Greased everything in the rear end and there is still creaking going on. I drove around and jumped up and down on the rear end to cycle the suspension but no dice. When I jump on the bed, it is the actual bed creaking. I have no idea what to do about that...it's especially bad at parking lot speeds turning.

In more exciting motorcycle news, looking at around $690 a year for insurance. Going to the firehouse tonight and the guy with the Ninja will be there so I'll talk to him some more and hopefully encourage him to sell soon...

Yeah I'm kinda just dealing with it right now. Maybe it will magically go away as I drive ;)

    Oh I know!

It will. My buddy's leafs are an aftermarket OEM style replacement....i've greased the hell out of them and they still sound awful. He fixed them with his radio. :headbang:

Dropped my truck off for the night so my F-5's can get mounted sometime tomorrow! Excited!

Also an update: truck is still creaking bad and making some other noises as well, but with this weather, keeping the windows down and the radio up masks most of it. Hope it goes away or something by winter time...

I definitely think I will apply my fluid film more carefully or not at all since it seems to create all these noises every time I apply. The actual rust prevention seems to be working but I am going to stop spraying with the cans. Gonna have to figure out a better way to apply from spray cans so it's not just going everywhere.

Brush it on? I'd like to try that myself.

I might see how practical it is to spray on a paint brush or similar, then brush it on the frame the next time I have to apply.

Still got the safety course starting in a week and probably going to talk to the guy at my FD with the Ninja every so often to hopefully move him to sell. He said he's probably looking to upgrade by the end of the summer but hopefully I can get him to do it sooner so I can get some ride time before winter hits. Good news is that I will be ready to ride as soon as I have the bike since I already have the gear and will have my Class M by then.

Also cleared out the garage for my dad (needed to do it anyway) and was able to move stuff around so I have a space for the bike to be inside, which is really nice.

First look...I'll get better pictures soon.

Very happy with the matte gunmetal choice. It looks great with my paint IMO.

    x2

Plus now it looks like a blackout build, but better because its grey. Looks like you need darker tail lights now. They seem to stick out a little bit. Maybe its just me :notsure:

    Thanks Luke.

    Haha yeah I like it.

Never going to non-OEM taillights again. Too many problems. I like the OEM tails anyway.

Lol, that's gonna be the third post of the build since I'm reaching the image limit for my mods post. Bob's helping me and he's moving it.

No more mods for a while ;)
