Hi all, I have been lurking around here for a while and finally felt the need to post a question. I bought a new 2008 Tacoma Crew Cab TRD O/R back in February of 2008. Since purchase, I have only put around 8k miles on my truck. I usually find myself not wanting to drive it when it's raining, etc., especially since it's BSP and shows everything. So, it sits in the garage a lot. My question is, should I be driving it more? My fear is that I won't get any kinks worked out before the warranty period ends. I'm afraid that my warranty will expire and something will go wrong that would have shown up had I been driving it more regularly. Any thoughts? Anyone else with a similar dilemma? Thanks in advance.

I think you answered your own question. It's a truck, a very nice one but still a truck. What are you saving it for, the next owner? Enjoy it!

Welcome TW. I wouldn't worry about working the bugs out. Drive it or get something that you enjoy to drive, its your money.

If your thinking your saving big money on not driving it, I'd question the fact that most depreciation hits on trade are based on the year of the truck, not the super low mileage, although others will disagree...that's been my personal experience.

Thanks for the help, guys. I plan on keeping this truck for the long haul, so I was just wanting to preserve it as long as I could. I think I'll get it out today...and it's raining.

Trucks are meant to drive & work for you!!

Get yourself another car - like a little sporty fast convertible to keep in the garage and take it out on the weekeneds when its not raining. ;)

Sounds like me, 08 BSP 14k miles. Make sure to get your tsb springs before your 3 years is up. Just did mine and now I wanna drive it all the time!

Thanks, JTD. I've already had mine done and it made a huge difference in ride and my truck doesn't hit the bump stops with a couple hundred pound load. Definitely worth taking it in.

Yeah, I had a 2001 Camaro SS until I sold it about a year ago. We're going to sell our house and build soon, so that fun stuff will have to wait I guess.

Good Luck with the house and you'll need the truck to help you move in. :D

It's always the kids, the house, the car, or the spouse that sucks up the money ain't it?
